  1. If those glow like the Moonshine carbon 14 that Sh*t would be evil ! I'd love to see those spinning in the water before first light.
  2. Dude, where have you been lol. I need a 16# gator..... either one shown is good too! PM me. I'm in
  3. yeah, you were close. I had a Starweld 18pro which I ran for 4 seasons before I went to the Fishmaster 196. @dickey feel free to PM me & I can add to what I mentioned below if it helps. I had good luck with that boat. I ran it without a kicker motor, a kicker would have made it lean for sure. Some folks had the 20pro and had difficulty with it leaning hard while running unless tabs were added. I didn't have that problem but needed to balance my load of stuff / people. Also, there's another guy on here who had some problems with his new boat and they a real hard time getting it to the factory and back (from what I understand). I imagine he'll jump on here when he sees this. paging @hookedupf7 It think you had the starweld problems right? PS. I always kind of wanted the Fishmaster but didn't think I could swing the $. After 4 seasons with the starweld I knew I really wanted the fishmaster and went ahead and choked it down. Glad I did
  4. Hey just a thought for you. Your looking for used so used requires flexibility sometimes. I have my 196 set up with a 72" shaft I pilot Minn Kota Terrova that came off my old boat. It works great up to about 3 ft'ers going into them on the 196. I may still put a true autopilot on the main / kicker tied combo. I strongly considered it this winter but its not cheap or easy and after last year's performance of the boat and my Ipilot I put it off so I could spend elsewhere. Performance was way better than I expected. I'm just giving you a data point. With the 196 I had to ask myself how rough I'm gonna ride anyway going into it where I can't afford someone on the wheel. Also, on a light tin boat how well is a traditional autopilot going to do anyways above 3 fters. Perhaps put the $ into a more multifunctional trolling motor or if your lucky that boat you were looking at already has that anyway.
  5. Yup...your a believer. I have a friend with a 300 Etec he bought on a used boat but new-ish motor. He loves it. We are all a bunch of picky, brand loyal opinionated buggers that's for sure. Glad yours is working out. I love my Yammy's!
  6. I'm by no means speaking for @BocceNation but I'll just throw out there that Etec is a fine motor and has their followers but brings a choice for users. Personally I wanted the simplicity of a 4 stroke (IMO). I don't want to have to worry about indexing plugs and oil mix fuel. Granted every motor type has its needs etc. For me, when I bought my Fishmaster new I wanted Yamaha and a 4 stroke. I ruled out one dealer as he only fit Etec's, I was going new I had my choice right or wrong.
  7. While I had no question at first glance and less question at zoom in I'll add some Rainbowimages via the good old google fact check. Square tail on a rainbow.....younger rainbow isn't a sure thing. lake oriented rainbows are very silvery and don't necessarily have the traditional stream rainbow look.
  8. Don't do it! As soon as you buy plenty....they will never work again! The fish are conspiring with the the companies that make the lures. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. The one problem with june can be that the temperature is good for the fish just about everywhere. That can make fishing spotty by spreading them out but doesnt mean you cant catch fish. I fish out of Mexico. Thats typical every year. Things are better later in june and the very beginning can be ok too. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Thought so lol. I did just look up the power flash. Search luhr jensen power flash or rapala power flash eash is a little different. Fishusa has the rapala one for $22.50. seems like a lot of $ but damn it works good... especially on the stuff that doesnt glow as good as the moonshine lures like the carbon 14...which is ridiculously bright glow. If you just go with a flashlight make it a bright one and go over the glow area slow. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. With UV there is nothing to charge. With glow....i definitely hit them with a high intensity flashlight before i send them down. I use to have a great luhr jensen strobe until it died. It looked like a camera flash. You reminded me i have to see if i can get another one lol Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Glad to see the mayor is keeping in tune with the IJC forecast (compared to last year). He can claim covid, but the way its going and the way the Ottawa river is dropping the lake level should be good. 2 years in a row of Wrights landing issues, why would you want to dock there. too bad.
  13. If you are new, don't focus too deep in the consideration of things. Just watch for calm conditions and get out there when they present themselves. What winds do and what currents result vary depending on a lot of things including where you are on the lake. Just focus on the fact that if the wind is coming from an unprotected direction....the higher it is and the farther it can go across open water, the rougher it might be. Currents are not universal.

If you didn't add it. It came from the factory with Zinc.
  15. That's brilliant! Another case of knowing the full story. Plenty of stupid or eccentric out there.....but sometimes its exactly what its suppose to be! While I can be harsh of opinion, as I get older I've realized a delayed reaction sometimes pays off.
  16. 30 or so years ago i waist deep at the mexico launch IN mid APRIL with my hand against the drain to stop it while my father searched for the plug and the bilge pump caught up. That mistake was never repeated. Fast forward to last year....im smarter right?....well not always. i let overly helpful friends i was fishing with distract me from my routine. The skeg on my new Yamaha 150 has a nice grind mark and chip out of it as a result of not tipping it up before started to pull the boat out. My fault for not following my own OCD launch procedure. Fortunately i generally pull the boat out slow and watch my side mirror and saw the boat move weird and stopped immediately. Every time i see that skeg it reminds me of the fool i was. Best ever was pulling my driftboat from the salmon river Pineville launch in winter around 20 yrs ago. Ramp is icy and im backing down in reverse AND in 4wd and wearing my waders with korkers on. Mistakes galore. My buddy centers the boat on the ramp...i usually left it to the side until the wheels just kissed the water. I back down and hit the breaks...truck slips...anti locks kick in and the break pedal pushes in and my wader boot clips the gas. Trailer pushes into the boat and off she goes ghost ridin in the pineville pool. I throw the truck i gear...floor it up and onto the bridge....leave the truck and trailer up on the bridge while i break my neck running down a snow bank.....wade out up to my tits and manage to grab the boat by one finger before she was off down the rapids. Probably my worst stupidity moment and best luck of my life at the same time Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Just make sure you always put the plug in the right hole. My father in law had the letters NO in those vinyl mailbox letters over top of his livewell intake on his lund. He saw me look at the transom and came out with the story before i asked. I helped a pair of guys who did the same thing while i was launching my friends boat at a reservoir. It was their first time launching. Im walking to our boat and while walking past look in this guys boat and see water welling up through an empty seat pedistal. He had no idea what was going on. I got him to put the bilge pump on and got his buddy to back the trailer back down. They were lucky and got it on the trailer just enough to pull it out enough to get.the drain hole out of the water then fix the plug. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. The forecast chart (worst case max) has been going down slowly but this latest one shifter it down to a foot below last years max. Good trend https://ijc.org/en/loslrb/watershed/forecasts Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. Do you mean everywhere or just NYS? I think it will depend entirely on location plus ability to follow the new guidelines which I feel make sense but have to be locally rationalized to ensure compliance is possible and only go stage by stage from there. By location I mean NYS vs lets say Wyoming. However there is the difference between Rural Upstate NY and NYC. That should ultimately be considered too (separately). Not yet I would agree until this whole plan can be sorted out no disagreement. However we are too big a country to be one size fits all so I will disagree there if you say most logical people think the whole country must wait until every place including lets say.... NYC is ready.
  20. I guess the concern is that some folks are contagious and feel fine. Why stay home if you think you are fine A face cover will decrease the distance a breath, sneeze cough or whatever will travel by velocity reduction. Yes not protecting the individual but keeping the unknown carrier from spreading as far. Whatever anyones thought is....if putting something over my face loosens things up, ok fine. I dont like looking at most of the ugly folks in this world anyway and im no gem either Even before covid there were (and still are) a bunch of no sneeze covering no hand washing dirty bastards out there. At least thats a lite better these days. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. NJ did this with mandatory masks at public stores Weird at first but you get over it quick. Im rural but it is what it is. I do it out of respect for business owners and others i guess. Just bought beer at a small liquor store (comical thats essential but whatever)...lady waited outside until i was leaving. Tried to hold the door for her and stretch my distance but she still waved me to go. No prob...old habits are hard to break. Im not judging anymore...ok perhaps a little...but a lot less Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. The only thing they seem to be pushing are fines for not social distancing. Even then they are gonna go after groups who make a scene i would imagine. I couldn't find anything solid on travel. I looked as i was interested. This would make sense to me. They dont have a lot of legal ground to stand on there. Especially when cuomo blew a fit at rhode islands goveror for suggesting blocking ny travel there. Executive actions are not laws and enforcement is murky at best. No one wants to try to fight something but you would probably win. Best to fly under the radar and not draw attention (my general life philosophy). I think as said parking is your primary issue. 23. I also have the 80 terrova 24v with ipilot. I have the 72" shaft which has been great. I have been running it for 5 seasons. 4 of them on a. 18' starweld and this last season on a fishmaster 196. i fish solo all the time Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. glad you cleared that up
  25. Your profile has your location as Watertown and you are posting a picture from Mexico. You have had fairly heavy handed commentary toward those who might travel to the area. Sure, you can say your buddy/ family member etc sent it to you. I'm just sayin "Optics are bad" relative to your commentary.
