  4. Do you guys have the single cylinder or the now discontinued two cylinder 6hp?
  5. Single cylinder 4 strokes are known to vibrate at trolling speeds. The smoother two cylinder 4 strokes are 8hp and 9.9hp. At this point weight will become an issue to look at. In the Finger Lakes an 8hp would be good for both sizes of boats. Also these motors may come in short shaft, long shaft or extra long shaft. Short shaft will be unusable. Depending on how you hang it off your boat (fixed mount, adjustable mount) you may need the XL shaft. That should get you started.

  13. I think an April fundraiser tourney for the lift project would be a great idea. Hold onto that boat. No one else will know that the "blue" color is actually some type of secret Rainbow Trout attractant. (Just so you know, I sent a little lift funds your way today.) Best of luck on this great project, Mark
  14. Justin, in response to your jigging question. Boat speed will make the lure rise faster/ fall slowly. The jigging function really just pulls the lure higher and lower. This appears like the lure is darting in different directions. Its not the same as throwing the boat in neutral for a second to make a lure fall seductively.
  15. Best feature=will lower to preset depth just by pressing a button on the keypad. Great for fishing solo or with rookies. Worst feature=they are crazy expensive Annoying feature=when following bottom in bottom tracking mode they will raise up (sometimes 30+feet or more) when they see a thick bait pod. They think its bottom. This can be stopped by hitting the up or down button on the keypad as it occurs. They are great riggers. Cannonlink is only a convenience that will eliminate the need to run a second transducer. You can do everything with the bottom tracking transducer and the multiple riggers without a cannonlink going to your humminbird.
  16. Here is the Ithaca Journal article on the tourney: http://www.ithacajournal.com/article/20130918/SPORTS/309180074/Outdoors-Late-lake-trout-wins-Cayuga-Fall-Derby

  20. I heard the big bow that won the Salvation Army derby was caught on a Seth Green rig. After poking around reading some Seth Green threads on here I saw a reference to fishing a Seth Green rig off a jug that was trailing a distance behind the boat. How is that done? What type of jug and how would it be attached? What happens when you turn, etc?
