I am glad it wasn't just me. I froze my tail off today! Seemed like the coldest day ever. Passed on a 6pt in the northern zone with the rifle in the morning, 20 yards. Hunted the afternoon with the bow. 4 doe. It was 21 when I went in and 17 when I came out. Brrrrrrr. That is great news about the baby guppy! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
Seems like an over the spine shot? That buck might be fine. Big cold coming on Friday. I will be out all day freezing my tail off. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
I am on the other end of 6k in Constantia. Vastly different landscape too. My brother lives in Remsen. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
I agree slipbob. WNY does always seem to heat up first. Things don't heat up for me in 6k until the second and third week in November like clockwork. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
I have a few East wind set ups. East isn't always bad. Though it is sucking today! No sightings yet, in the NZ with rifle. Edit - saw a doe and fawn. Very quiet. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
This morning was nuts. 6 bucks and I saw 5 of them multiple times in a 3 hour stretch. It was like they were grid searching this one chunk of woods for a hot doe. One fat 8 point right at noon but not a shooter, none of the bucks were shooters. It was still an awesome hunt. Got some good video. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
Awesome deer and great pictures. The face to face picture could be in a Sitka commercial. One of the best pics I have ever seen. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
You're making me hungry! Ever try making Osso Bucco with the shanks? It is possibly my favorite venison recipe. https://www.google.com/amp/www.themeateater.com/2013/venison-osso-bucco-recipe/amp/ Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
I have had good luck with Scentlok clothing. Some people think it is a gimmick but I can assure that it is not. You have to use it correctly, rubber boots, gloves, and headgear. Nothing is 100% fool proof but it keeps the deer from coming "unglued" when they pick up some scent. They have proven that washing yourself and normal hunting clothes in scent free soap does not fool deer at all. I still use scent free soap because it can't hurt but it is the actual odor coming off of your body that they smell. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
Those kings seem to be hanging in the lake a bit longer this year from what I read at least. I bet you hammer them shallow soon Chow. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
