  1. I would bet that gobies caused the big drop in sunfish numbers. From those graphs it looked like the bass were doing okay. The perch numbers were down too but that might be because the walleye numbers went up and they might eat more perch? Good info for sure.
  2. Nice video. I noticed you weren't taking it away but it sounds like those fish weren't chasers anyway. I bet drifting makes the lure act more like you are taking it away as opposed to being anchored. The flasher idea is interesting. I will try that.
  3. OMG that Barbie rod video was fantastic! Well done.
  4. I hope they contacted the DEC. Seems like dead musky are showing up in a few spots. Hope it's not VHS. This prolonged warm spell can't be good.
  5. Like Kevin said. Gobies eat mainly zebra and quagga mussels so I would bet that the mussels were from their stomachs. Nice limit of eyes!
  6. Well done guys!
  7. Nice rocky. The head looks like a smallmouth!
  8. Yes and it is where Erabbit refers to. 1 or 2 miles East of Bridgeport off of route 31.
  9. I do the same thing as Prof T. with small strips of bacon. It doesn't take a lot of bacon to add plenty of flavor. Bacon wrapped walleye is always a hit at our parties! You guys are making me hungry.

    SLR Eyes

What size jigs do you use on the SLR? It seems like you would need something fairly heavy.
  13. LOL. Sorry. The way it was written it sounded like you were running the tourney!!!
  14. Double check your date. That was last Saturday...
  15. In open water they actually work well jigged like a bucktail. Cast it downwind and jig It back to the boat.
  16. I think it's actually January 1sthttp://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/31423.html
  17. The docks are not in yet.
  18. Not sure if that was you we passed on our way in. We were in the Red Lund. We went towards the plant and caught 7 Browns. Did you see the boat on shore? That was not good...
  19. I think if it went to commercial sale only then the state would make more money on taxes.
  20. I have been following this topic for a while. I think you guys are actually handling this well. This topic tends to go down the toilet fast on other forums. When you start making regulations that take money out of people's pockets they get angry and defensive. That is understandable. My 2 cents is to reduce the limit to 25 and still allow the sale of perch. It doesn't have to be state wide. They reduced the limit to 25 on Canadarago Lake. Not that it helped the fishing from what I read.
  21. It sounds like you are doing just fine without boards. I started running big boards 4 years ago and I think it makes a difference on those calm sunny days. I run 4 lines on my 16' boat. I could squeak in 2 more but 4 keeps me busy enough. I used to just run 2 flat lines and I do miss the quick turns and always getting the inside track.
  22. That is a great week! I am going from ice fishing Oneida on Monday to Browns on the big lake this afternoon. You can't beat this area.
  23. Congrats!
