  1. That is neat. Thanks for sharing!
  2. I found this. "The table inside the cover (square with 36 boxes) is based on the system of numbering the sections in a township, and marks this compass as designed for preliminary land survey use by surveyors or developers." " Cover has township grid, the system utilized in surveying in most areas of the country."
  3. From my limited experience on the SLR those walleyes like to hug bottom. Fish before sunrise or after sunset and get the lure just off bottom with bottom bouncers.
  4. Good stuff! Those SLR bass are just as tasty as the SLR eyes if you asked me.
  5. Looks like the Bill never made it. I am sure they will try again next year.
  6. Looks like a Cisco.

I would bring it all. Personally I would rather jig but if that doesn’t work out you’ll be able to through the kitchen sink at em.

We have probably been hitting close to the same areas. The jigging bite has been solid for me since opening day in 22' - 25' at sunset. Also picked up a few trolling deep.
  9. Senate Bill https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2021/s5058 Assembly Bill https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2021/A5728 You can choose NAY on both. You can also reach out to the Governor to urge her to veto it. I know most of us think this process does not work but I have seen bills get Vetoed that seemed like slam dunks because a bunch of people reached out to the Governor. https://www.governor.ny.gov/content/governor-contact-form
  10. Great job!!! Jakes are definitely more tender too!
  11. WOW. I picked up a few boxes last year at Sportsmans warehouse. I think they were $45 a box. Nothing cheap about TSS but it flat out works! Update - I had to shoot twice this morning but I got him! It was one of those awkward weak side shots. Expensive morning!
  12. Awesome! I wish NY was like the surrounding states where kids younger than 12 could be mentored. I have taken my oldest, now 9, to PA to hunt public land the past 2 youth seasons. No birds killed yet but he is learning some woodsmanship. It is hard to imagine that he has to wait 3 more years to hunt in NY!
  13. I have had some great days in the harbor on windy days.
  14. I was doing some work in my yard last weekend when the kids tapped on the window and pointed in the back yard. They always come through in early April but they are long gone by May.
  15. The boom is still in. The launch is open but only 1 dock is in.
  16. Just found that #8 is the smallest allowed in NY. Some other states have no law on shot size. https://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/8366.html#:~:text=You may hunt with a shotgun or handgun only when, any turkey you shoot immediately.
  17. There has always been some bright orange and some pale orange Ontario browns long before gobies. I filleted some last night, same thing, some pale orange and some bright orange. I agree about the taste, I cannot notice any difference. Though I always feel like the bright orange should taste the best!
  18. We do the same. It is similar to tuna fish. We make sandwiches and fish patties with it. BTW - nice catch!
  19. Some well fed fish. Congrats.

I use those in 2 spots that I have had theft issues before. Overall I like Browning cams the best and their boxes are well made with a perfect fit.
  21. Coyotes are the ONlY thing I shoot and don’t use. I have done squirrel in an instapot. That works pretty good.
  22. It is crazy how many deer you could shoot. I have only filled my bow buck tag so far. I could still shoot a buck and 5 doe with tags that I have, not including tags that could be signed over.

First shot in 4F 6:33. Not bad and right at legal time now. About 20 minutes later than normal!
