It is hard to pass up the urge to take an easy doe or two with a gun in September.
Depending on where you hunt you can be tactful about it by not getting into your core area and blowing things up.
Still undecided myself.

Good topic.
I think a lot of fish gets wasted. I can’t see people actually eating a full rack of trout/salmon. It is good for advertising and that’s about it.

That is some beautiful looking dirt.
I just ordered a Browning cell cam to try it.
I have had decent luck with Moultrie mobile but my browning cams have always had better picture quality and battery life.

Nice catch. Don’t forget to grab the “wings” too. There is a cheek sized chunk of meat there too.

Click on "To see DEC's update on the 2021 cormorant program, click here"
This has some info on the proposed Cormorant program on Oneida Lake and the Eastern Lake Ontario Basin.
I would suggest contacting Jim Farquhar, he is a wealth of knowledge on this subject.

That is a great video.
I have been going through this process recently on my own land with a local forester. It is marked and the contractor is lined up.
My land is made up of a lot of hemlock and white pine with some cherry, oak, and maple mixed in. The purpose of my cut is to thin out the hemlock and pine to open it up for the other trees to grow.
I am curious to see how much this helps the more valuable trees over the next 20 years or so.

I have some Farm To Feet Damascus socks that I have worn a ton in the woods, on the ice, and to work. They are nice.
I have a couple pairs of First Lite socks that have a lot of miles too. They are probably the best I have found.

Last year’s dry June and summer really helped with survival.

I have a 90 on my 1775 Impact. It tops out at 40 MPH. I can't get it to troll below 2.5 unless I am running riggers or big boards that slow me down some. When I troll lead or inlines for eyes I run a small trolling bag on each side.
If you want to troll a lot I would go with a kicker. Otherwise I think you will need to do something additional (prop, trolling bag, trolling plate) to get down to 1.8 - 2.0.
And like Chow mentioned, LUND does pop up on plane better than any boat I have been in.
If you are not in a huge hurry I would try to take a ride in each boat that you are interested in if possible.

I have a LUND Impact 1775 all vinyl. It has been a great boat for me. I use it on Ontario and Oneida.

Anyone see the dock situation recently? Are they allowing you to launch?

Yes you can launch. There was one usable dock in last week.

So, just downloaded Navionics. Kind of pissed i haven't done it till now. pretty cool! question/concern. I see things like "hump" on irondequoit bay that shows as a "fishing/diving hotspot." is that data someone put in? When I put in my fishing spots they can't be public? Can they? Are the hotspots in there just public ones?
Also, I haven't dug in too much because I'm on the trial version. Can I pull the maps on my laptop, put in pins and all and then access them from your phone like you can using OnX for hunting?
There should be an option for community edits under Map Options. I think that will turn off the sharing of your marks. Not 100% sure on that.
I think you can also use a PC if you set up an account. I have had the APP for several years but have not tried to look at them on a PC. That might cost extra.

I live in the northern zone. I get deer in my backyard occasionally. I had 2 doe and a fawn go through early this morning. The one doe was flicking her tail a lot. She went up to an overhanging branch and rubbed her face on it. 10 minutes later I had 3 bucks go through end to end! The biggest of the 3 checked that branch. It looked like full rut here the way those bucks were cruising. 2 years ago I had some video on one of my trail cams with 2 bucks chasing a doe this same week.
Update - make that 4 bucks. Just had an 8 point go through with one side dropped.

See if this allows you to read the article.

Maybe Legacy will chime in here. Maybe it was someone else but I remember seeing a pic of a shockwave that looked just like yours Kevin, maybe even more intact.
I started using Barnes after I saw that.

It always cracks me up how nobody ever comments on what a great job the DEC is doing. This state is very diverse.
I hunt 3 different areas of the state. Otsego, Oswego (NZ), and Ontario counties.
In Otsego and Ontario I saw the same amount of deer I usually see.
On my own land in Oswego County I saw way less deer. 2 properties within a mile of me were logged heavily and that is where a lot of the deer were. Find the food and you will find the deer.
Each of us only sees a tiny piece of the state and we never get a good look at the big picture.
From my perspective where I hunt there are plenty of deer and the age structure is slowly getting better in all 3 areas.

I can’t read the article. I agree on the float suit and I would not step foot on early or late ice without spud.
