  1. thanks guys. I drove to Buffalo 85 miles  to pick one up Wednesday from craigslist. Seemed like a good deal, talked a lot with the owner, ensured me it was better than the pics,  brought cash just to find a TOTAL PIECE OF CRAP :swear:  :swear:  the pics this scumbag sent me were of a "similar" camper . The ceiling was dry rotted, been sideswiped, all screens ripped and fridge ripped out, not same one in the pics. He had the nerve to say I wasted HIS time.Wish I knew about that place would have checked it out when I was there.

  2. Hello. I was wondering how everyone rigs their flies to the flashers. Currently I tie direct to the swivel at the back of the flasher. After multiple changes it  shortens the   leaders. I have also tied loops on the end and fed it through like that, reusable but don't like having that in the line. Wondering if a barrel swivel would change the action. , wondering what your thoughts were.

    Thanks, Kevin

  3. Last weekend the only 2 :( keepers I found were under 8fow about a foot off the bottom. Definitely tough going, just glad I was able to have time to sneak out

  4. Well after 9 months of doctors, 5k in copays and loss of her job due to her absence my wife has a diagnosis, Heavy metal poisoning. Something I was floored by. With  The time frame they  created it is believed it happened while her office was undergoing construction while she was working and  pregnant for our daughter. Our little one now has to be tested, and Laurie has begun treatment to flush this from her system. Metal treatment is "possibly" not covered by BCBS  (why do I pay for healthcare) but we appear to be on the road to recovery. Our family would like to thank the LOU family for all your support! Now on to the fishing season soon  good luck!

  5. It is a spring loaded auto retrieve reel based on an old record player setup I believe. Les can probably describe better. Like I said I learned the old way of piling the wire in the boat. Long as you don't touch the mess, it USUALLY goes back in fine. All you really need is copper, some sort of storage spool like an extension cord reel and a fixed hook spoon (Johnson silver minnow) is a cheaper approach, get your boat down to 1.2-1.6 and jerk the copper as you are trolling. The lakers will slam you good on the hit. Your arm takes all the give and acts as the rod. It's a different and fun approach. Ps don't try with a dipsy rod in the water also I learned :(

  6. Im still waiting for that "Copper Tournament" out of Sodus........  Biggest King wins.  You can only use copper line with flashers or lure, no rods can be used or on board....  and oh yea, no gloves either......lol

Love it! I am "only"35 and grew up pulling wire on Seneca, still do time to time.Got my first wire fish at 5. We go real old school, no victrola just pile the wire on the floor, the trophy has enough deckspace. My dad tried pulling in front of Sodus, told him he was nuts If a king hit. Got a decent laker and lot "rockier" bottom feel. Still a hot method and there is still nothing like having that slam and  your arm stopped dead on an upward pull

  7. Fishing slow all over I was told. Have a hunch sodus will start picking up soon. Trying either third creek or Leroy in the am. I have a clam 5600, hell to drag in the snow :( good luck!
