  1. My only guess is I did it level on trailer , raised bow after I drained . Must have been a little water that didn't drain all the way . Idk. Prob just paranoid but didn't expect anything in there . I've winterized myself /or my dad since it was new . Never had a prob . Idk why there was some left Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. It's enclosed 3 sides mike . Front open but closed off with a canvas tarp. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Strange dumb question but here we go....have a 99 trophy with a 4.3l i/o. Winterized , drained the water etc back in early October. My dad passed away the same weekend , everything was a blur that time frame . Went to the boat today to check everything over . Second guessing everything I did recently I decided to unscrew the engine drain plugs for reassurance . Got a little (about 2 max 3 shotglasses out of water ) then realized I never took off lower water pump hose this year when drained which I normally do. I know I won't know for sure if I did any damage until I run it but does anyone know if a little water is ok without any problems? Oil looked ok, no signs of cracked . Boat stored in a non heated carport wrapped up. Really kicking myself , but hope it's ok. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. "she is pissed off" is also acceptable lol.

  8. just keep in mind if the buoy shows 1.5ft waves, its really 3ft. that's the rise from sea level, not the trough of the wave. Always x2 and I always add 10mph to the wind when planning. South wind, small boat best bet stay shallower. Turn before it gets uncomfortable .
  9. and Rick I have seen many occasions where someone is told their loved one is gone. Its a sickening feeling and does anger you , especially if it was avoidable .
  10. I ran into a guy once years ago, prob around 30yrs old on Sodus. Said he is the first one on the ice every year and the last one off. Falls through at least once a year and fishes with a life jacket . He also stated that he is not a p***y and wont get blown off the lake in his 19ft starcraft bc he knows what hes doing. I remember thinking what an a**hat and he will be in the papers someday. Someone elses life was taken here by similar pride . That guy I met years ago was tempting his own fate not anyone elses ....guess what I am saying is take this as a lesson and I hope the same mistake doesn't happen again
  11. exactly....never get too comfortable . I wont challenge it. Fishing in choppy water is a pia but if I have to question if my boat can take it safely , its not worth it. I look at it and think If I were to lose power, wrap wire in the prop etc could I be safe until help arrived. If I feel the answer is no, Im staying home. Have I fished in nasty holy crap weather? Yes but I have gotten more cautious especially if my 9yr old is with me. What happened is a gamble no one should make
  12. Its unfortunate when things like this happen. It however makes everyone sit back and look at the big picture. We all double check our vessels , safety equip and the weather forecast before heading out. In the fire service when there is a line of duty death, we look at the situation in depth, no matter where it happened . Critique it not for judgment or finger pointing but as a learning experience for next time. I saw this Sunday strong south winds backing west . My game plan was to venture out to 300-400 and park there , however with a semi rookie crew that was planned to go I opted to keep my 21fter on the trailer and do yardwork and clean the boat (finding more spoons I bought and hid from the wife too lol) I was bummed but I have 2 little girls that depend on me , lets all just take it as a warning to double check our gear and be cautious. Prayers to the family . Tight lines......
  13. Thanks!!!! Tight lines ! Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  15. Hello, does anyone know this gentleman or are you still on here? Bob maybe? About a year or 2 ago you were looking for Fenwick Rigger stix. I had one for you and I have two more if you are still interested pm me!
  16. Check your terminals at Battery. I had an issue when I hit my power trim (mercuiser) the engine would almost stall right out or change rpms when using riggers . Positive was a little loose, tightened and all was fine.
  17. yeah we use the 42's. they work great. Long as you get a good bite they hold anything.
  18. No straps and good brakes ?? Lol Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. WTF.....Hope they get caught and pay up the a**!!! Sorry
  20. I noticed that my 2052 trophy def burns alot more fuel while running with trim tabs down for smooth ride as you are pushing more water . Also do you have a trolling plate ? Plate down runs higher rpm for speed . Example I run 700 rpm for 2.2 to 2.7 gps speed no plate or 1000 rpm for 1.5ish plate down , little more fuel , adds up over day of trolling . Hope this helps.
  21. salvagedirect.com ?
  22. Ksgls, I'm right up the road from you. Saw the progress on that gls22 everyday you made on my way to work. You do good work lol. I was gonna introduce myself at the seneca derby at the ramp but it was hectic Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. I see this boat today in a yard up from my house in walworth
  24. Happened with mine. The drive gear stripped. Teeth too warn to retrieve weight but worked fine on slack line. Both went within 2 trips of each other. Fish307.com had them in stock. About $15 each. Thread is left hand though fyi removing the driveshaft
  25. Les I wish I recorded it, she was all hands and elbows. Yelling aaahhhhh!!!!! I coiled it behind her and could barely keep up lol. Believe it or not, went back in clean. That's our loop at Sampson in the background, so the family got a front row seat to it from there lol. Needless to say she is hooked!
