Question about bass fishermen
blueghost1 replied to Second Chance 22's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
Second Chance, the problem is that these bass fishermen have $50,000 boat payments they cannot afford tied up into a useless floating dock with 200 hp, and most trout fishermen catch bigger bass by accident on the riggers than they do their whole fishing career That being said, there are however a few decent bass fishermen -
Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Kevin "Blue Ghost" boat name ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water:6:00a-10a Weather/Temp:very hot! Wind Speed/Direction:0-10 Waves: 1ft Surface Temp: 66 Location:straight off sodus LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 5 Total Boated:3 Species Breakdown:2 kings, 1 coho Hot Lure: grn/glw spn dctrw/ mtn dew fly, monkey puke R&R razor Trolling Speed: 1.9-2.9 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 180-225 Lure Depth: 50-145 ==================== fished with dad today on a very HOT day! First fish was a decent 21# king at 141/189 on the rigger green & glow spin doctor mtn dew fly. When the fish started to scream the spinner flea build up caught in the level wind channel on the reel and came to a stop! luckily the fish turned at that same moment so I could quick clean the reel. Have never had such terrible fleas to interfere like this! When all was said and done, took a small king on a R&R monkey puke as well as a small coho that needed "help" releasing the rod all 5 hits on the riggers, none on wire. Could have been better or worse, however awesome day to be out, good luck to all! Below is a pic of the one decent fish of the day ====================

Good report Dale! Got out on Seneca with the family on Sunday for a boatride, ran the rigs from 10:30am-11am and managed a 17" landlock and about a 24" laker, Kayla got to see and touch her first fish! Let me know if you want to get together and get out sometime soon -

White back spoons
blueghost1 replied to blueghost1's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
I am using them taped with a variety of colors. For instance I have 2 blk mags w/ purple and sliver tape, blk tuxedo nk28's, silver back has taken many, white none. Never really fished them that deep FSN, usually run spin doctors that deep, Thanks for the input! -
I was wondering if anyone has any consistent luck with white back black spoons. I have quite a few black spoons and rarely if never pop fish on the ones with white backs, only polish. Before I break out the wire wheel on them I was looking for input, they are mostly nk's and pirates similar to the 42nd spoon. Does anyone have luck with them? -Thanks, Kevin

question...
blueghost1 replied to rdebadts's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
rdebadts, I have often said those who won't share ANY info are just plain not confident in themselves or fishing ability. Yankee is right, this is probably the best site for any info over a sporting goods store. Anyone who reads my fingerlakes posts knows I am very willing to help others catch fish or get started in the sport. Lake Ontario has been somewhat of a problem with our boat and consistency for salmon since we do not get to get out there but only 7-10 times a year, and this site does help alot. Piece of info,I went to an area sporting goods store a while back looking for flasher rigs and was led to WORM HARNESSES by a "qualified" employee -
Mikey P still has a chance for some sales commision

Lund SSS,whenever I fish Ontario I always check www.lakevision.com buoy report. It gives you good data on wind direction, speed and wave height, the hell with local news!!! -
Thanks Dale! i kept 3c17 under control lol

I am still up in the air to fish Saturday, I will let you know if we do

Thanks FLX! Yeah Brett we knew who you were, sorry I didn't talk much the little one was being real fussy at the time because of the heat, but it was an awesome weekend

Had an awesome derby weekend! Had lots of fun with the family as well as fishing. Ended up taking 1st place rainbow @ 8.72 lbs 30in on Sunday , finishing the weekend with 58 lakers boated, about 15 over 7lbs, the one rainbow and a decent Brown. most fish came pulling wire, but had a variety of boards, and rigger hits as well. The rainbow was taken from Bellhurst off a board on a black long a Bomber. Chatted with Cdga Troller quite a bit and he seems to own the Landlocks on that lake Also chatted with zebedee on Saturday, nice to meet you Jason! I am already counting down the days until next year! Here is a few pics from the weekend as well as my little girls first boat ride

SEA J, the best combo we have used on Seneca is green and glow spin doctors and mtn dew flies. I had good luck on black and green RR spoons and nk28's same color. What speed were you running?
-
sounds good Zebedee! lol it's an 18ft blue and white sylvan with no riggers or anything just 4 rod holders, hope to see you out there!
