Boy where have heard abut that happening before Cornelis just be thankful it it wasn't a rigger with a probe attached to it too Is that where your probe is? The very thought hurts!! -
Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:rolmops ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):7-2 Time on Water:2 hours Weather/Temp:very pleasant Wind Speed/Direction:north west breezy Waves: 1 -2 footers Surface Temp: 66 Location:north of I-Bay LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 2 Total Boated:2 Species Breakdown:coho/brown Hot Lure: NBK Trolling Speed: 2.4 Down Speed: 2.2-2.8 Boat Depth: 50-120 Lure Depth: 30-110 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS I took the boat out with my son out of I-Bay around 5 o'clock ,to have a chat and do some fishing as an excuse for above mentioned chat. Around fifty out there was a lot of fish on the screen and the down temp was in the high 50s ,we caught some small fish there. Going farther out the down temp went up to 66 degrees and it stayed around there all the way to 130 feet out.We had to get back early so we packed up early and never did find any good water. While packing up we forgot to bring one of the riggers up .If you find an 8 pound stingray pancake with 200 feet of wire on it give me a call.I guess I wanted A-Tom-Mik torpedoes anyway.Yes Tom,I did order them last night, but why do you only offer air freight for shipping?? Cornelis. ====================

A "repaired" prop is usually a smaller diameter than it used to be.Although my first thought is with a spun prop,it may just be that the repaired prop is now a 13x19 .This will work fine as long as it does not have to work hard. What you describe is that the engine revving up is exactly at the point where the boat is struggling to get onto plane with the bow high up and the stern down and making a big wave. It may not be a spun prop but just not enough prop and at the hardest point it just takes off but does not move enough water to push the boat along with it.

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:Rolmops ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):6-25 Time on Water:05.00 am-noon Weather/Temp:good/high sixties Wind Speed/Direction:north-west ,Nothing like the weather man promised Waves: we left with 2 footers, ended in 5 to 6 footers Surface Temp: 67/68 Location:north east of Wilson LAT/LONG (GPS Cords):N43-21/W78-around 50 =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: very many Total Boated:19 (released 14 Species Breakdown:Coho/steelhead/atlantic/king Hot Lure: Lime icicle, orange crush, and deeper down anything orange and green .all without dodgers Trolling Speed: 2.4/3.4 Down Speed: around 2.5 Boat Depth: between 120 and 150 Lure Depth: around 50 to 60 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS My brother in law came in from Mass so we decided to do some fishing. We left Rochester early and enjoyed sunrise on the lake. The weather people had promised a bit of a chop in the very early morning and 1 footers later on.They should fire those guys! We went back to last week's waypoints and almost instantly we started getting hits, the Cohos were very happy to oblige us with nice fights. We tried to have get under them with a spin doctor and a fly but there were no takers. So we went deeper and there we found another layer of 49 degree water at 60 feet. Here we found the atlantic who gave us a nice show and also 2 nice kings the steelhead were higher up just under the surface.By 11 the 2 footers had changed into 5 footers with occasional 6 footers mixed in.That is not good for an 18 footer so we packed up and made a slow very wet ride in ====================

This is bad news indeed, but it is being used for political purposes. This politician would like nothing better than the carp reaching Lake Michigan. That would give him a lot of political ammo. Blaming Obama for fish swimming upriver is comparable to blaming Obama for afternoon rain. The carp came up all the way to the lake by swimming up the Missippi and they were there while Bush was president,I mean the elder.Heck they were there under Reagan. In fact King George the Fourth probably sneaked them in. Getting rid of them is not going to happen when politicians can take advantage of this disaster in the making.

The $100 is paid by the team that provides the observer. The team that draws your observer usually pays the observer between four and five hundred dollars to make sure that things go smooth

Catch and release tactics?
rolmops replied to FLO1919's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
The best way to give them a chance to survive is by making the fight very short. The fish is not often worn out by it but has a huge milk acid build-up in the muscles causing muscle cramps and making it very painful for them to swim after a long fight. -
If you are limited with your time, then you can always get your license at your local Walmart and your derby ticket online. As for gear,You do need those local tackle shops because they have what it takes to be successful.

I usually use a drop of superglue on my knots, specially on spectra and other super braids. It strengthens the knot and lessens the resistance when going through the guides.

Probably every boat has its own dynamics. The perfect situation is where captain and crew are good friends, while at the same time the captain's commands are never questioned during the competition. Questions and comments are for another time. When I observed on the "Spoonfed" I observed that, that is how they work. Maybe the PROs have too much at stake and that may make them act differently.

Spoken like a true LIBERAL. Your European social/political beliefs have surfaced again BTW, the passage you quoted from the passport was enacted before the Libs allowed radical Islam to run wild in the world and make the world the dangerous place it is today. Peace through MILITARY MIGHT!! that works for me. I hope there is a Coast Guard/military member here to defend the comments you have made. Good opinion, but missing the point.Today's law enforcing coast guard is completely forced into a straight jacket of bureaucratic rules created in order to prevent any hint of profiling. This creates robots, not soldiers or marines,or coast guard personnel that is allowed to differentiate according to the situation. This system makes the perfect breeding place for bullies. Whatever system turns soldiers or coast guard personnel into mindless enforcers is a bad system. Blaming the "libs" for everything that went wrong or not to your liking is simplistic. By the way,I appreciate your gratitude for those who served.I served four and a half years in active duty and 50 to 70 days each year in the active reserves until the age of 47.

It was no big deal.I used the same system that Alexander the Great used when he had to deal with the Gordian Knot. The only difference being that he used a sword and I used scissors. -
You have a PM

When you give small bureaucrats a little bit of power, they will suck it for all that it's worth.Remember they are not rocket scientists, that's why they are in the coast guard. About just doing their jobs. Their job description is about 50 bureaucratic pages long and doing their job requires no intelligence, all they do is follow the pages of the description. If you have a passport you should read the first page and then compare it to what they do.. Here is what it says: The Secretary Of State of the United States of America hereby requests all whom it may concern to permit the citizen/national of the United States named herein to pass without delay or hindrance and in case of need to give all the lawful aid and protection

I think I have you guys to thank for the ideas and the coordinates. We started exactly where the Spoonfed started on the Pro-Am. -
Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name:rolmops ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):6-19 Time on Water:04.50 AM-01.30 PM Weather/Temp:pleasant low sixties into low seventies Wind Speed/Direction:South west Waves: early on calm,as it got later the calm became 4 footers Surface Temp: 60 Location:Just east of Wilson LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): between 47 and 50 west =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: very many Total Boated:14 Species Breakdown:8 steelhead,3 kings,3 cohos Hot Lure:high up anything orange(DW SS) spoons, green spin doctors with green/white flies + one snagged shad Trolling Speed: 2.5 -3.00 Down Speed: 2.3-3.4 Boat Depth: 150-200 Lure Depth: 20/35/50/70 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS After all the hot reports out of the West end and Rochester still being very iffy We took off out of Rochester at 3.30 in the morning and drove the eighty miles to Wilson Park.We launched and enjoyed the sunrise while setting our lines out in 50 foot where the screen was wall to wall fish.We picked up some small bites and one Coho, but that is not what we came for.So out we went to 200 hundred feet where we saw a few local charter boats. We fished with planer boards that had copper about 150 feet out on one side and lead core 6 colors on the other. The copper running an orange dream weaver with white fish bone pattern and the leadcore with a yellow flasher with a yellow spoon. Both had constant hits but they had no hookups of anything keepable .We snagged some baitfish running through a pod and lowered it on the down rigger behind an e-chip dodger at roughly sixty foot where the water temp went down to 53 .It took about one minute and the first king was on. A nice 15 pounder. So it went on with plenty of light hits, mostly on the free sliders.but only the big steelheads hit those hard enough for the hooks to set.Around 11 we had to bring the planer boards in because of the wave action and we ran the copper and the lead just from the sides, which made for the mother of all knots and while we tried to undo the mess the copper got around the prop and stopped the engine. So I went for a swim with my plyers and solved that problem. This trip was not uneventful but in spite of the troubles we had a fantastic time.I think I will be back next Friday, unless Rochester heats up. Cornelis. ====================

Walmart batteries will give you a 2 year warranty. That is about their life expectancy. They are junk. I tried them and although I kept them inside on wood with a trickle charger over the winter, they crapped out in a little over 2 years Right next to walmart in Henrietta on 391 Clay road there is an Interstate battery dealer. You can get cosmetically blemished Interstate batteries with interstate warranty for about 30 dollars less than regular interstate batteries. This makes them the same price as Walmart batteries but a much higher quality and warranty. They are open until 5 or 5.30 five days a week.Just give them a call at 359-3150 to make sure that they have what you need because their stock has a very high turn over.

I just read some partial info about the involvement of a BP executive at " The Great Lakes Institute For Energy Innovation" at Case Western Reserve University. The (ex??)executive is Dianne D Anderson. She is now the executive director of the afore mentioned institute. Does anybody know about any connection between Kessel and Anderson? To have a BP official sticking her oily fingers in our Great Lakes would be a first step to change from wind mills to test drilling for gas and oil in Lake Ontario.

I hope you poured a libation on the water to appease the fish gods and asked them to bring the big salmon to our waters. Specially since I plan to make a run out of I-Bay tomorrow morning. -
congrats to team high voltage with Reeljerks
