There’s also a 150 quart Igloo cooler available at Costco or B&J’s for about $60 which is about a third of the price of a Yeti. I have 2 of those in my 19 foot Islander strapped to the floor. One for ice, food and fish. The other for storage (usually empty). These 300 quarts also give me an additional equivalent of about 10 cubic feet of flotation material, which may come in handy. Well I pity the ignorance of your local leadership. After the terrible disaster that struck NY City in the beginning of the pandemic, governor Cuomo was on the news every day. His leadership and full taking of responsibility for the measures that had to be taken, (unlike another leader who just lied about it while knowing the truth), with the full cooperation of most New Yorkers, helped NY State from being the worst hit state in the union into the state with the lowest transmission rate in the Union.(less than one percent). Why don't you stick that in your pipe and smoke it, while you stay in Ohio. We believe in freedom, but not in stupidity.

A few days ago there was a post about a flotilla event on one of the Finger Lakes. The post was closed because of well eh.. the usual. The flotilla was part of a nation wide effort to promote a certain politician. In Texas five boats sank while participating in the flotilla. What happened was that everybody participating looked at it as a joyful event and some rules of the water were ignored. Quite a few boats were overloaded with participants. Then at the start of the event, people fired up their engines and where there was a quiet lake, it turned into a lake with large waves coming from everywhere because of all the different wakes and conflicting direction of these wakes.Overloaded boats took on water. Five sank and a bunch of others were towed to shore(beached)before they could sink. If you plan a flotilla please do announce it and make sure people do not overload their boats with kids and grandmothers and who knows what else. Also please explain that wake can kill. End of rant.

6hp Johnson Seahorse idles but not full speed
rolmops replied to WeeIrishRascal's topic in This Old Boat
If you decide to try and fix it yourself ,make sure that no parts can fall in the water(You'll never find them back). You should probably start with buying a spray can of carburetor cleaner. Then, unscrew #29 and washer 28. It is a tricky thing to get #27 out so leave it in. Now put the red straw on the nuzzle of the spray can and stick it in the hole that 29 came out of. Spray the cleaner in there and let it sit a minute or so. Then spray it again. This time with a lot more spray so all the gunk is flushed out. Now , put everything back together, make sure that your engine is in the water or on the muffs, start it up and see what happens. Make sure to wear eye protection. Carburetor cleaner is wicked stuff to get in your eyes!!! -

check this out : 15 is the needle I talked about .17 is the part that holds it in place. Do not remove 17. The carburetor on your engine has a knob on it that allows you to adjust the needle. when you adjust the needle you change the fuel /air mixture to fuel richer or poorer. -

Put that new carb on there now and close the adjusting screw all the way but not tight. You may have to pull the knob that is on the needle off in order to close it all the way. Then just open it up one and a quarter turn and put the knob back on with the pointer in the up position. Start the engine and screw the knob back in a bit . You will probably hear the RPMs go up. Screw in until it reaches the highest rpm and then turn it back out a quarter turn. That's all there is to it. -
Although I sincerely dislike Trump, I honestly believe that this Trump boat parade announcement is not intended as a political post, but as safety announcement. The parade itself is of course political, But I do not see anything here on this thread that is a pro or anti Trump announcement. Thanks for posting.

They stopped stocking walleye because the rainbow and brown trout population went down drastically as a result of the walleye stocking. whether is was food competition or the trout becoming the food, I don't remember. I do know that both the rainbows and the browns have made a comeback after the walleye stocking was stopped, but it took a long time.

You can order keels with only half the weight from Big Jon. One and a half weight stays afloat. I don't think that Fat Nancy sells the half weights. -

You don’t have to worry about 20 feet. The air pressure difference is only about 9 psi which is well within their tolerance range. Salmon do not really suffer from pressure differences, their problem is exhaustion and having been out of the water which is like strangling to them in addition to being weightless in the water and all of a sudden weighing 30 pounds out of the water. I did just that yesterday morning. Using black super slims with silver ladder fifty feet down over 120 feet at 2.2 at the ball. It yielded 2 29 inch eyes within 30 minutes. If you know Owasco Lake well, it is a great place for large fish. Having caught these 2 seven plus pound beauties I left the area where they hang out and went over to where I like to get some rainbows. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
