  1. unless you have run the engine after you put the stabilizer in, it is quite possible that fuel in the filter and water separator is spoiled while the fuel in tank is fine. So don’t panic just yet. Replace the filters ,fill them with fresh fuel and make sure that there is no old fuel left in the hoses.Drain the carburetor and spray carb cleaner inside. Let it sit for a minute. Then try to start again and see what happens. It so start. Let it run for 10 minutes and check the water separator again. Good luck. 3. If anybody is really interested, there is an easy way to see what there is to see. Go to view on your task bar and continue to zoom in . Zoom in a few times and you will see a lot of little zebcos ,almost exclusively open or closed spinning reels. 1 nice surf casting rod and one or two casting reels of a certain age. There are a few little tags on some rods which makes me think that this is "over stock" from a pawn shop. The seller could donate them to the salvation army, and make a bunch of poor kids happy. Selling them for $500? I don't think that is very reasonable.
  4. I've been using a 16 dollar Costco tarp for 5 years now. It is heavy duty, it works like a charm.
  5. Right at the left hand top it has a phone # and email button. Push it.
  6. Apart from the west winds that will create 4 and 5 footers, I really like going out of Oswego. Mostly because travel time to the fishing grounds is usually less than 10 minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. But what about the fleas in Point Breeze?
  8. There is a special forum on i-boats dedicated to Mercury-Kiekhafer. There you will find a lot of people who still run those six cylinder tower of power monsters. They can direct you to project engines. It seems to me that you have racing on your bucket list.
  9. The pike, perch and musky are capable of “breathing “ through their mouth into their air bladder and into their blood stream and they will if needed. That’s why perch and pike stay alive for so long out of the water. It is a very good thing to have, specially in Summer when the water is warm and does not hold a lot of oxygen. 10. This is for those who have trouble with their Mercruiser T&T sender units and worry about having to take the out drive off to get to those 2 lousy screws that sit high up there in the housing in a place specially designed by Mercruiser to make your life miserable or expensive. You know that all that is wrong is the sensor sitting on the side in its nice round black box. You also know that in order to replace it you need a few hours of pain and cursing just to install the wires. What most of us do not know is that there is a sender replacement gadget that can be installed in about 5 minutes and costs only about $20. Copy what is written below and paste it in your search Mercury-Mercruiser 805134A4 ROTOR KIT
  11. It would be doable if you pick the pier located on the western side of the river. Would it be a nice day to go fishing? Usually with eastern winds the bite shuts down and standing out there freezing your butt off and not catching anything seems to me a form of masochism. But if you are in Oswego, you can probably fish on the inside of the the storm wall close to the exit. That would be very doable and there is a good chance that you catch some fish.
  12. Mayers Marina at the entrance of Irondeqoit Bay has all the parts you need, although 1980s may be a bit too modern for old Bill Mayer. He carries more 50s to 70s parts. His knowledge of both engines and parts is fantastic.
  13. And this is the end of a rather politics free thread
  14. If there is a creek nearby with even very slightly warmer water, go fish in that warmer water as it flows into the lake. It will change your luck.
  15. They stopped making those in 1971, but they are very nice light weight trustworthy outboards.

  17. I crossed the Niagara river at Lewiston today and there are lots of big chunks of ice going down stream. They move at a good clip. It is not yet safe out there with those big chunks floating around
