  1. Thanks. I'll try it and see if it works with my stubby fingers.
  2. sorry wrong thread
  3. Also known as a willies knot

  5. Use the break away cable anyway and in between the probe and the weight. You do need a weak spot there. Loosing one 16 pound torpedo is a lot cheaper than loosing a probe and a torpedo because your cable broke higher up. You can also make your own brake away cable that is stronger than the one Fish Hawk supplies ,but weaker than your down rigger cable. It is a very good idea to check your downrigger cable every time before you go out fishing. The one time I did not cost me over $300 in lost gear, spoiled a fishing trip and made me feel like a complete fool.
  6. Go pro, no nasty adds.
  7. I am not sure that they are better fish catchers than Michigan Stingers, but I do know that my Northern kings after many seasons still have all the paint while I have thrown a lot of stingers in the garbage because the paint comes off after one good hit.
  8. The police might consider that a serious crime, like someone trying to drown you. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  11. You have a PM
  12. The good USA made ones are $40 a piece. The ones on E-bay are $7.51 a pair shipped to your door from China.
  13. The Canadians mainly stock Atlantic salmon in subzone #3 which is between Port Credit and Toronto with the hope that the salmon will imprint on the Credit river. That would put the larger concentration in the western basin.
  14. The way I understand this, is that this one lake trout ended up in a patch of water that was on the move. Relative to its water environment , it did not move very much at all. It was carried by this patch of water to the west end and it became a marker as to how this patch traveled. This is very much like the swordfish being carried north in patches of warm water , as is described in "The Perfect Storm"
  15. You make it sound like Jerry is on recently legalized Canadian medication. But few things are better for the spirit than dream weaving in a boat on the lake of shining waters.
  16. That is a very nice looking boat. It must have taken a lot of love and labor
  17. About as long as the current along the Canadian side would take to go from east to west. The current has an average speed of 0.4 km. per hour, but since it does not follow a straight line and meanders a lot it may take longer or shorter.
  18. There are a few very good youtubes and also i-boats articles on pouring foam. Here are a few tips about doing it. Get a bunch of large cheap disposable quart and gallon plastic mixing and measuring jars or cups and a few mixing tools that you can put on your drill for mixing the parts together fast Make the entire floor of your boat ready and install it. With a hole saw drill a bunch of holes and keep the pieces that your hole saw cut out.( you will need them). Wait unlit the weather comes up to 80 degrees. This is a needed temperature for proper foam expansion. When it is warm enough to work, mix the foam fast and pour it into the holes as it begins to expand (not before) starting at one end.caught between the flooring and the hull the expanding foam will expand upward and once it fills that direction it will expand sideway because it has nowhere else to go. The moment the foam starts to come out of a drilled hole push it right back with one of the drilled out pieces of wood that you saved and put a brick or some other weight on top of it to keep it in place. In the meantime pour more foam into the next hole farther down and so on. That way your entire sub floor space will be filled evenly and completely, not leaving any pockets where water may gather and freeze. It is freezing water that expands and destroys closed cell foam.If you do it right, it will get very hot so bear that in mind. If you do it inside, make very sure to have good ventilation. The process uses up the oxygen and stinks bad. Keep in mind that you will have very little time between mixing and pouring Hope this helps. Cornelis As for pool noodles, pingpong balls, soda bottles and milkjugs. These thing will not pass coast guard inspection.
  19. Thank you gentlemen. That is important to know. I will pull them out when I can't pinpoint the fish.
  20. Yes, it is.
  21. Fishin freak said: When you guys say check valve is that the same as an anti-siphon valve. I'm actually in the process of trying to tie my new kicker Motor Inn to the main fuel line as well. Thinking of putting just manual shut offs. If this main fuel tank already has an anti-siphon valve at the pickup is it okay to put another one in line as well An anti siphon valve on a tank is often used to protect the tank from draining through your engine.Hence the name. This is important when the tank sits higher than your engine. The direction of the anti siphon valve is to prevent fuel from getting out of the tank. The inline check valve we talk about is set so the fuel cannot flow back in the direction of the tank, which is the opposite of the anti siphon valve. If it is shut offs you consider, you may want to look into a three way valve to save room
  22. A very true statement.
  23. It's a beauty. Let's just hope that the white stuff in the back ground of that picture will be green by next week so you can go enjoy!
  24. I always thought that a primer ball has its own check valve
  25. Going through my lure box I found about 35 northern kings, mostly 28s, but some were bigger. This made me wonder about lure speed. I know that super slims have a large range as do stingers. Is there a speed range in which 28 northern Kings perform best?
