Nothing happens overnight. The green new deal is a nice idea and just like every other new idea it will get watered down and bits and pieces become part of our lives. Just as fossil fuel will slowly become less important. Our fishery may well profit of a cleaner world. The economy will develop along new lines. Remember, When the stone age ended and the bronze age started almost 4000 years ago. the stone artisans thought that the world and the economy would suffer greatly.

This has mostly to do with the senate, although there is also inequality of vote value between states because of population differences, but much less so.Montana as of 2019 has about 1.1 million people . California as of 2018 has slightly over 40 million people. 1 Montana senator represents half a million people while one California senator represents 20 million people. Yet their votes equal value. This is great if you live in Montana, not so much if you live in California. The electoral college has similar problems . This was shown during the last election where the popular vote was 3 million votes in Clinton's favor while because of the electoral college representation Trump won.The original idea of Electoral College was working well a hundred years ago. Now because of population shifts to different areas it no longer does that great of a job

You are right! Californians should have their voting rights removed! They are evil followers of evil Nancy. They like to get hen pecked! But seriously, Their will always be a minority, be it Republican or Democratic. That is why we have a constitution that protects the rights of minorities. This is still a republic, a democratic one. Personally I do not know who is dumbed down, although I do agree that an IQ of 90 is a lot more common than an IQ of 110 and as long as politicians cater to the lowest common denominator on that scale, the dumbing down will continue. Just do not think that the minority is smarter. If they were, they would be the majority

Do you honestly believe that 57 Californians should have the same representation in the senate as one Wyomingite? That is the way it is now. In my book it says :"One man one vote". Why should one Wyomingite have the voting power of 57 Californians? Is that what you want god to help us with? As for your 51 state, you had better leave Rochester, Buffalo, Syracuse and Albany out of your 51 state. If those cities were part of it, it would be a democrat run state.

Legally, you do not have to have flotation foam in boats over 20 feet. That said, I very much recommend putting it in anyway. As far as ping pong balls or pool noodles go, just imagine that a deck board pops loose and all your ping pong balls float away. Same with noodles. A cubic foot of CLOSED CELL gives you about 62 pounds of upward force under water, but both noodles and balls have a lot of space between each other and lower the upward force by probably 30 %. Besides a lot of noodles or ping pong balls are probably just as expensive as proper foam. So you may as well do it right the first time.Usually insurance companies take a very dim view of noodles .

I had a set of triple riviera boards, thinking that they would pull like mules. Not so. They are made of plastic and styrofoam and they are so high on the water that they skip over the surface instead of digging in and pulling. Otter boats or Amish boards are the answer. I see what you mean, but you are wrong. Most people here are open and willing to listen. What we have here is severe cabin fever with all the grumpiness that it causes. It is March already and people were thinking about getting into the Niagara river for lakers or chase some browns. Instead, there is more stinking nasty snow in the forecast. When you are holed up too long, it only takes a little bit to get angry. Heck, the guy who started this thread was seriously looking for something to get mad at and I bet you that he had to dig deep to find that one. When the weather clears up and the boats are pulled out of the barns the moods will improve and people will be away from their screens and outside in nature instead of being grumpy.

Well, friends. The people proposing this law are exercising their freedom of speech right ,as are the people who support them . That is a good thing. Those who do not agree can also exercise their freedom of speech right and oppose this law. That is what democracy is all about. It occurs to me though that the folks proposing this law know their way around the legal system, whereas those who oppose it on this website are just venting instead of effectively opposing the law. That is not a good strategy to get anything done or stopped.

I think that the issue is killing for fun. Hunting for food is not what this is about. I love tournament fishing, but at the same time, it is upsetting to me how much fish gets thrown out. It would make me a lot happier if the tournament organizers could add a fish donation service as part of event. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Bellows do not like salt water very much and salt water is capable of doing some nasty damage to most things it touches, so if used in salt water you should change the bellows often, like once every 4 or five years. Fresh water does not do that much damage so that gives you a bit more leeway. The rubber can go dry and brittle during the winter months or when spending most of its time on a trailer. I usually sprinkle some talcum powder on the bellows when I winterize. I will not change bellows in fall. It is smarter to do that in early spring so the rubber does not have to go through winter while outside. Every 5 or 6 years is fine. Dependent on the type of bellows you have, it can be a royal pain to replace them and successfully use the bellows glue so it ends up on the bellows and not your hands, I like to get a bucket of very hot water and dump the bellows in there to soften them up before installation. It makes the job a lot easier.

I have a 300 foot weighted steel with a 1000 foot 19 strand backing on a Penn 345. With the backing color coded every 50 feet. It gets my lures to over 100 feet. Reeling it in goes very fast with the help of a hand drill. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Leadcore sink rate
rolmops replied to horsehunter's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
If you let out more backing, it will go deeper. Thin wire will be most effective because of low water resistance although the diameter of the leadcore will work against it. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
