With an Arima boat you do have a "false " bottom due to the thick closed cell foam layer that these boats come with. The foam makes it impossible to use a through hull transducer because the foam is just not the right material for the beam to shoot through. That leaves you with 2 options. Either the transom which works fine while fishing ,but not so good when you go in search mode. Or drill a hole in your boat and go that way. If it is done by a professional than you should be alright. If it is done less than perfect you will end up with water soaked flotation foam which in an Arimo is a royal pain in the neck. When you look at the second picture down below , you will see a foam free space and you can possibly drill a hole somewhere in that area. 360.813.3600 [email protected] HOME ALL MODELS CONSTRUCTION PARTS REQUEST A QUOTE DEALER LOCATOR ABOUT US CONTACT CONSTRUCTION Home CONSTRUCTION Arima Boats uses the highest quality components! Our boats are safe, economical, and easy to handle. Arima Boats are designed for smaller engines enabling them to run and plane at very low speeds, reducing gas consumption. Our deep cockpits and wide hulls give you a more comfortable, stable, “I am safe” feeling, allowing you to relax and become one with the environment and the sea, the way boating was intended to be. With an Arima, you can troll straight without holding the wheel, allowing you to concentrate on landing the big one. There are these beautiful quiet days in November. I would go out on one of those days and fish for browns on Lake Eerie in front of a creek in 40 to 50 feet of water and get some browns or smallies. As for Keuka lake, They do not draw it down, but it seems that the lakers tend to move to the southern end to spawn and I do not believe in catching fish in the spawning season. It seems to me a willful destruction of future investment.

Thank you guys for the info. The surf fishing should be exiting although "the amazing shoreline sights" might be somewhat distracting. From what I gather there should be plenty of small charter guys around. I'll just bring some loaded reels and buy or rent rods when I'm there. I might send some pics of the fish and maybe the shoreline sights.

Is the 7' foot ugly stick a one piece or a 2 piece? If it is a 2 piece I want it -
It may help to contact the bombardier company in Canada. They own Evinrude and they should be able to steer you to some good Evinrude people in your area

I do not usually stop fishing until Thanks Giving. It usually means that I am completely alone on the lake. That is the main reason why I prefer to stay close under the shore and run a brown program. It feels a bit safer to be able to pack up and leave on short notice. At this point in time the browns are still in front of the creeks, but as the winter closes in, the bigger ones go into the streams while the smaller ones stay in the lake. In 50 feet of water it is usually just below below 50 degrees throughout the column and on a brown program you can expect browns, lakers (out of season), smallmouth and the occasional pike if you get close to a weed bed. So there is a lot of fun to be had. Good Luck.

I love my thermal underwear in combination with Carhartts. That stuffs works in the woods, on the ice and the fields. It does not make you stand out like a sore thumb.

No, but they will have been taken away along with the body of water that they are in. The fish themselves stay much in the same place relative to the body of water that they are in.But the body of water itself has moved away. The trick is to find out where the body of water has moved to.

In summer, the north wind will push warm surface water to the south side of the lake. The more warm water is pushed south, the more it will pile up on the south shore and push the colder water away under and northwards from the south shore. Sometimes you will find 70 degree water at 150 feet down on the south side, while the surface water on the north side will plummet to 42 degrees, because the warm water that was blown away is replaced by cold water that comes up from the depths of the lake. That is only one out of many other things that happen , because there always are a ton of other factors to take into account. The middle of the lake usually is more stable than the coastline.

The bay is small enough and it’s very easy to see where the boats are. I think that you are just trying to see if you can get someone to make a fool out of himself. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

Another 20% CUT in Chinook Stocking for 2019
rolmops replied to Tall Tails's topic in Open Lake Discussion
In one of the meetings with the DEC Steve Lapin(?spelling) mentioned that increased pen raised salmon has a dramatic effect for better survival and these salmon do tend to stay closer to their pen river. At the same time he said that increasing the number of pen raised fish , will lower the the other stocking numbers in order to keep a proper balance in the water. He also said that he does not mind giving more fish for the pens as long as he can lower the other regular stocking accordingly. The regular stocked fish does not have a home river because they never were in a river when they smolted and chances are that they will go to the water where they were spawned, but they have no reason to return to or stay near their stocking river. On the other hand the pen raised fish does. I think that you western guys should ask for more pen raising stock and accept the resulting decrease of fish of regular stocking that will swim away anyway. Overall, you would be better of. Did you ever think of putting pens in the Niagara river thereby creating a west end natural reproduction river not unlike the east end salmon river ?
