  1. That is very true. We have much the same problem on the east end where we have to wait until the middle of June for the Salmon to show up in good numbers
  2. I personally love the Penns. Tell me what your plans are. I do have Cannon Mag15s right now,but I do think that Penn 820s are better.
  3. How bad was the foam? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. The way I understand the term, it is inferior engineering because it is the work of an African or at that level. In my book that is not kosher.
  5. $125 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. That will give you the time to prepare and get the mixing tools Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. I mostly agree with what you say. I do not like the the "Afro Engineered" thing. I hoped that as Americans we were beyond that. As for the lemon law, it only kicks in after the the dealer has made several sincere efforts to repair a recurrent problem, so it will not work just yet. I hope that it is just some easily repairable bits of sloppy workmanship. The one thing that boat makers do not like is having their poor workmanship discussed on a lot of boating websites, because a lot of people who buy boats will read the comments in these chat rooms. If you call the warranty number ,you should mention that you post not only on this website, but also on "The Hull Truth" and "I-Boats". That usually motivates them to do the right thing.
  8. The volunteers in the Credit River hatchery (Mississauga) do produce a lot of steelhead. Maybe that has some influence on the alewives in the western basin
  9. These days nobody controls the media and their is opinion tailored advertizement driven "news" for everybody's taste. Public Radio and BBC are probably the only sources that do not mix news with opinion. Usually the loudest and most extreme radio and TV "News Shows" are the least trustworthy because their "Anchors" are in it for the money and they will tell you whatever you want to hear in order to make more money
  10. None of us were there. I do believe that she spoke the truth. I also believe that testosterone crazed drunks grow up and grow out of stupid behavior and into more or less decent human beings. Usually after their wives teach them a lesson or two and specially after they get vulnerable daughters. My bone with Cavanough is that he has a history of partisan political activity. I want my judges to be totally non-partisan and I do not trust him to be so.
  11. I do believe that she spoke the truth. She obviously had been traumatized. What worries me more is that, in the dorms of a lot of testosterone and alcohol fueled fraternities, there is the same stuff going on even today. I wonder why the colleges have not put a stop to this and local police forces insist on looking the other way instead of enforcing the drinking age laws. Both my daughters have their stories. One day they too will tell them.
  12. Nobody disputes those facts. But I am thinking about buying property in Costa Rica and enjoying my retirement down there.
  13. Like it or not ,but at this point upstate is supported by downstate
  14. That is really very improbable and the statement above belongs in infowars.
  15. And nobody took your guns away
  16. Congratulations, do you want a medal?
  17. You realize that the same goes for the guy in the white house.
  18. I am an independent so please do not brand me as a liberal lefty, but when I hear your candidate Mark promise a 30% tax cut , it is clear to me that he believes the voters are stupid and ready to accept any hogwash that he can think of. He does this because he knows that he will loose and he will not have to live up to what he says.
  19. Try again, I never got it
  20. If your boat is under 20 foot length you must by law have flotation foam, so if you remove it, you must replace it. One cubic foot of foam has 62 pounds of upward force, but one cubic foot of saturated foam weighs 62 pounds. It is good to replace saturated foam. Removing it makes the boat a lot lighter and gives you a chance to inspect the hull for possible leaks. As for pouring in the replacement foam. It is ideally done in a 70 degree Fahrenheit environment for perfect expansion of the foam . when it is colder there is less expansion. Just go to I-boats.com and search "pouring foam". Not only the manufacturers do what you just described. Everybody does it that way. It prevents the foam from "boiling over". The foam ideally glues itself to the floor and there should not be any room for water in there, no matter how much water you get on the floor. A boat with the foam removed or replaced by noodles or other nonsense will no longer be covered by insurance no matter how much you pay to insure it.
  21. The DEC originally introduced the salmon to the lake in order to control the exploding alewife population. The salmon fishing was not a big part of the original plan. It has become more important today because of the financial impact. But alewive control is still the chief target of the DEC. We should all expect the DEC to keep making making decisions that mostly have to do with Alewive control , not the salmon fishery. If more salmon are needed, more salmon will be stocked
  22. It would be a good thing to find out where the humidity comes from . It may be that your flotation foam is water logged.
