  5. It is open again ,but with a very strict limit of one fish per person. The haddock limit is 15 fish per person and the pollack has no limit.
  6. Dr Lou and I are trying to go fishing out of Gloucester in the beginning of May. The plan is a 12 hour trip with Kevin Twombly, Kayman charters (deadliest catch tuna) and go after cod ,haddock and pollock. The cost, including tip is about $1850 for a 12 hour offshore charter (six pack) on the "Lisa and Jake". That is roughly $320 per person for the trip. The date is probably Saturday May 6. Sent me a PM if you are interested. Cornelis
  7. Is it possible that the stomach acids will dissolve the shell?
  8. There is hope yet. I am willing to make a bet that some bored geneticist will make a slight but dominant change in the mussel's DNA. Thereby eliminating the threat. It may cause them to mutate into nice bites for bottom feeders. But seriously, at the point of over population, there usually is a population implosion. It happens in every species.
  9. I'm thinking in terms of lower PH making their shells softer, making them more edible. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  11. I use the Canon terminator because it keeps the torpedo just under water when bringing the rigger up. Not having the torpedo in midair banging back and forth saves a lot of wear and tear on the equipment.
  12. I've seen a couple of 1100 7 foot one piece medium action trolling rods in gander mountain in Henrietta,NY(Rochester )just this week. It seems that they are a bit thinner than the original ones, but they are ugly stick so probably very good. I am looking for the 2 piece ugly stick 7 footers without any success, so if you know of any, please let me know.
  13. Probably online. It should be a 4 stroke tohatsu 9.8. They are the most bang for your buck and you get a 5 year warranty. Tohatsu is the company that makes the small mercury and nissan.
  14. I have seen several geese like that, but always in flocks that are mixed in with farm yard geese. They were mixed breed. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. I have always wondered what increased acidity in the lake will do to the mussels.
  16. I sneaked out onto lake Ontario when ,with the southern winds, the water under the bluffs was quiet. I was aiming for browns, but while trolling, I caught some bass only and no browns. They were released.

    Boat chair?

Actually, these chairs have been around for a very long time. They were originally designed to serve the needs of upper middle class salt water sailing yacht owners. Not for use while actually sailing but for cocktail parties on the boat while on anchor.

    Boat chair?

A lot of boating business is based on the fact that there is a sucker born every minute.
  19. It seems that there is an 'e' missing on the first word. But I came up with:" Som'e'times fishermen fall for it hook line and sinker"
  20. You are not legally allowed to shoot them, But maybe a big sign saying "trespassers will be shot" may help get the message across.
  21. The problem with check valves is that they work for fuel ,but they will let air through. I had the problem that the working engine would start sucking air instead of fuel. A three way shutoff valve took care of that problem
  22. I'm sure that there a lot of Airbnb lodgings available or cheaper hotels 5 miles out of town
  23. Yes you are a BSmaster
