    So the tournament is over. The fishing stunk. But the gathering at the end of the day was fantastic and made it all worthwhile. A big thank you to all the organisers for making this event one to look forward to. Fish or no fish, I plan on participating again next year! Cornelis

    You can make it work the right way if you put 30 or 40 feet of mono between the different colors. That way you will always have mono in your guides and down to the water. It's worked for me and it saves space because you don't have to bring another three or four rods for each side of the boat.

    With eastern winds? For now there is a clearly defined thermocline at about 50 foot down, so you should be able to take advantage of the thermocline hitting the bottom and fish for browns in 60 degree water on the bottom in structure. You might want to consider live bait or jigging since trolling has been less than succesful.

    We fished Mexico Bay just today. The fleas were almost non-existant.

    OK guys. This is the biggest nicest friendliest east end tournament. Even if you don't catch a thing you will still be part of the best party of the Little Salmon River fishing community. The food is fantastic and so is the company. Sign up now and make sure to be there.

    I had a similar problem. It turned out to be the connections on the back of the display unit. I pulled them out cleaned them off put them back in and bingo everything works again.

    It used to be a matter of listening to the sound that the rigger cables make. And registering the speed and direction of the boat when a fish was caught. The theory being: If you hear the right sound and go exactly in the same direction and at the same speed as when you caught that last fish,you are doing good.

    Fishing derbies are nice,but I sometimes wonder about all the prize money and the competition it causes. I like the family friendly derbies like the triple crown derby on the east end, because,win or loose,the gathering of all fishermen ,the food, and the friendly competition makes for a joyous community event and people go home ,win or loose, with a satisfied feeling ,having broken bread with friends and shared experiences. If you want to gamble and win money,there always is the casino.

    Airmar makes mix&match cords for the P66. Just google Airmar mix&match. Just make sure that you need a 600 watt and not a KW. Those are different cables. You can order a p66 with matching cords for humminbird from Gil Trevor at "the Hull Truth" website in the electronics chat room . His handle is "Semperfi fishing".

    Good Morning. Reading your post,I found myself thinking about your problem,and it may be a completely different thing happening. NOT rain water. A boat on a trailer probably in a place with big temperature differences between day and night has a lot of water condensing during the night on the engine block and other internal parts. The condense water may be your problem. Check it out early in the morning when it is still relatively cold. Open your doghouse and see if there is condense water on the block.

    Yesterday afternoon I went out for a bit. The waves were about 3 footers with a brisk wind. I caught one jack and went back in. When I tried to dock I found out that the rubber bumpers at the end of the docks are missing. Now I have a long gauge on the side. So be forewarned.

    For now,maybe we should set a rule that a deal is made public on this board when the deal is made and have a 36 hour valid time for the payment to be taken care of. After that,its open again.
