  1. I may be paranoid, but I tend to get that way when a first time poster offers a product at a price that is too good to be true
  2. I'm cleaning out my garage and getting rid of a lot parts. It is 2 boxes of stuff containing some good working remote control cables, a small remote control box (for evinrude/johnson) 2 mercruiser (3 liter) wiring harnesses,2 alternators (mercruiser 3L) some coils and a lot of parts from several mercruiser blocks. There are also some evinrude drive shafts for long and short shaft 7.5 and 9.9 parts and some shift rods. Shipping this stuff is not a good idea. it is heavy. I'm not interested in splitting it up The whole thing goes for $100. I'll sweeten this a bit. There is also a 5 inch lower unit extension part for a late fifties or early sixties 35 or 40 horse Evinrude and 2 nice boat seat pedestal bases (20 inchers or there abouts) give me a call at 585 -733-2728. Cornelis.
  3. The idea is to make the hole so the bucket will let enough water through the bottom to make it go straight behind the rope. I think that a 3 or 4 inch hole in the center of the bottom should take care of that. But maybe you will have to go bigger.I've seen people who put a five inch hole and they are happy with it.
  4. For buckets to work you will have to drill a few good sized holes in the bottom.
  5. Not only will the store close, John always organized a small fishing tournament which was a very nice, very family oriented little tournament. That will be gone too. It is almost as if a little bit of the soul of the Little Salmon will be gone.
  6. As far as reel size is concerned, would I need the same size reel for this wire as I need for copper?
  7. I have used Monel single strand stainless wire. How does it compare to this Torpedo material?
  8. Yankee Troller, was it your rig that was jinxed with bananas in every single rod holder on the eve of a west end tournament some years ago? Or did you put a curse on somebody else's boat by sticking bananas in every single rod holder? I remember the picture, but I do not remember which rig ended up looking like a Jamaican banana boat.

  10. Were there any witnesses to prove this? :-P
  11. On the way out of the Little Salmon we used to do a few things. At tournaments the captain said a Hail Mary and on the way out to the lake we all washed our hands with a a drop or two of anisette. Did it help? It did help to get us into the team spirit. When going out of I-Bay I always pour a libation of second hand beer as soon as decently possible.
  12. This sounds like some misguided young kid showing off how tough he is. Personally I feel that kids who do this sort of thing need some correctional treatment with a 2 by 4.
  13. I always thought that saw belly and moon eye are just different names for herring
  14. That cow must have been over forty ponds.
  15. Around this time of year, you can catch lakers in 10 feet of water and less. All you need is a small inlet with slightly warmer water and baitfish
  16. Foam is a tricky thing. When I did my Islander there were areas that were water logged and other areas that were bone dry. I suggest that after you take off the floor boards you check if it is necessary to do the foam. As for the cabin. I just took the separating wall apart and removed the side seats. When you pour the new foam, you should lay a layer of bubble wrap in the bottom. That way the foam does not stick to the bottom and there will be drainage under the foam. Also glue a plastic sheet to the floor boards,so the foam will be protected from water on the top. If you do not do this, the foam may be water logged again in just a few years.
  17. I like that picture. Was the picture taken with you going north bound in the afternoon? If so,my cottage is right behind your head.
  18. The last few years we had a link in the website called "noaa weather service" that directed us to very localized weather prediction and wave height expectation. I tried the link a few times this week ,but it does not work anymore. Has the web address changed,or has the link been taken down? If anybody knows what happened, please let me know.
  19. I have this six foot + state trooper and his big friend do it for me.
  20. Mine has been giving great service for 5 years now. Just make sure to use dedicated wiring to the battery to prevent interference.
