  1. Looking for a used marine radio in good working condition, with mounting bracket & knobs. Update; found a radio from a fellow LOU member
  2. Thanks for the interest, but it sold at 8:30 this morning.
  3. I've had 4 people contact me about this motor today, but no takers yet...
  4. I've been asked if the motor comes with a fuel tank. I have a like-new 6 gallon fuel tank that I am willing to part with. It's still half full of ethanol-free 90 octane gas, treated with Sta-bil Marine 360 fuel stabilizer. The fuel tank has only been used 6 or 7 times, and I bought it new for $50 at Walmart. The fuel line was another $40 at Walmart. I can't afford to give someone the tank and fuel line for free but I could throw those in with the motor for $400. What I will throw in for free is the Walmart marine battery, size 24, that I've been using to start the motor. The battery stays in my dry basement all year on a Pro Sport battery charger. The battery is 4 years old and in good shape. I'm trying to be fair with my pricing, with neither the buyer or me getting ripped off.
  5. Nice. Dorado dolphin and red snapper were my favorite to fish for in Texas.
  6. Thanks, you as well. What are you fishing for in Florida? Fresh water or salt water?
  7. Absolutely. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions!
  8. Here's the owner's manual I bought for the motor, included in the sale.
  9. More pics
  10. SOLD Selling my 1973 Evinrude tiller steer, 2-stroke, twin cylinder motor, model #25302A, short shaft. It has electric start (starter was added by a previous owner), rope start, a new prop and a new starter switch. I just replaced the battery connector ring terminals yesterday on the 8ga battery wires. The motor runs great. The reason I'm selling it is because it's too heavy for me to keep putting on the boat and removing it by myself. The motor has forward, neutral and reverse, and weighs roughly 95 pounds. Gear case capacity is 8.3 ounces. A local marina replaced the impeller and water pump kit, and they also rebuilt the carb for me, probably 4 years ago. This motor pushes my 16ft boat up to 21 mph with 2 adults and loaded with fishing gear. The motor has been winterized every fall and stored in my garage. I didn't use the motor this year or last year, but I run the motor in my 100 gallon tank every year. Asking $350. The brownish looking spot on the prop is a reflection, not rust.
  11. I got the trailer quote today... $1,725 plus tax for a 16ft aluminum trailer. Not much less for a galvanized or painted trailer. I am forced to pass on the 998 and save up for a trailer. With Lake O being flooded again, my 16ft boat will be my primary boat on the smaller lakes this year, and unfortunately it needs a trailer.
  12. I've heard some people have some difficulty whem using certain cell phone apps.
  13. Unless something changed or I'm doing something different, I close my ads by editing my first post, and changing it from "for sale" to "sold/closed". But that's using my laptop. I haven't tried closing one on my phone.
  14. I agree! Closing your own ad is easier than creating your own ad.
  15. Lol, that takes too much time.
  16. Thanks! I love the 1198c SI that I have on my Lake Ontario boat. It replaced my 959. And yes, I'm still interested.
  17. I called him at 10am and 4pm and he wasnt in the office all day. It's a family owned and operated marina with very few paid employees, so the owner gets his hands dirty too. I still don't know the cost of a new trailer. If someone has the money before I do, go ahead and sell it to them. These are still great units and it will serve someone well.
  18. I'm not suggesting that the moderators need to re-post any ads that are already posted. That would be impossible to reorganize. Let the person selling the item re-post their item(s) in the correct category. All NEW ads would have to be posted in the correct category on whatever start date the mods choose.
  19. Is there any way to split the classifieds into subcategories? It would be easier to browse if there was a category or section for boats & motors, and one for electronics & downriggers, and another section for rods & tackle. The classifieds are so crowded with ads, it's hard to find something you're looking for. Just my two cents worth...
  20. Thanks. I'm calling the marina tomorrow to see if he has a quote for me.
  21. I'm waiting to get a price on a new trailer for my 1974 16ft boat. That will determine if I have enough money for your 998.
  22. Also, do you have the knobs for the gimbal bracket? I don't see them in the picture.
  23. Would you be shipping it from Florida? I wouldn't trust getting a used transducer from anyone other than you or the "seller"., so new is my only option.
  24. No worries, I only use transom mounts anyway. I did a quick Google search for a new transducer and it came up at $186 from several sources.
  25. They are great units. I run a 959 and an 1198c SI. I was thinking about replacing my 959 because it doesn't have DI or SI. I haven't priced a transducer yet.
