  1. Looks great! Your hard work and determination are paying off.
  2. Thanks for the info and the offer! What would the housing arrangements be for this project, and the length of the job?
  3. Thanks! I found these guys on eBay.
  4. Thanks for the links! Is your extra antenna new or used? They seem to run between $35 & $38 new. The Depth Raider klinchers look like the Sub Troll's. I have an antenna and klincher on my Penn rigger, but I'm not planning to use my Penns right away. I figured I could put a different antenna, klincher, and cable on one of my Cannon riggers. That way I've got 2 riggers set up for the sub troll.
  5. Nice! I had an older 70# 24v Minn Kota in my 19ft Sea Nymph center console that did real well in most conditions. I don't remember if it was a 50" or 60" shaft.
  6. Thanks. I prefer new, but didn't know where else to look other than flea bay.
  7. Looking for a working klincher kit and antenna (that attaches to the downrigger) for my Sub Troll. I'm located around Watertown, NY.
  8. Looking for a working klincher kit and antenna for my Sub Troll. I'm located around Watertown, NY.
  9. Already looks better! Keep updating your progress.
  10. Lol, I'm just winging it on hopes and prayers. The repairs on this boat looked so bad that when I dropped it off at my favorite marina last October they didn't know where to start, or how to tell me their honest opinion without hurting my feelings, Lol. But 5 weeks later, with some engine and fuel system tuning & repairs, they were impressed and surprised by how well it ran. Then it was up to me to do the rest (interior and electrical). The last 3 boats I've bought (including this Sabre) have all been good examples of how NOT to wire a boat and trailer. It's been a good experience, and rewarding, but I'm not sure I'm ready for any full time stuff either. It would cut into my fishing time .
  11. Thanks! No work done today. Gotta get the trailer bearings out so I can make sure they are road-worthy, maybe this weekend, due to thunderstorms tomorrow (Friday). I'm happy with the progress, considering spring just arrived a few days ago . I'd be done if April weather was closer to normal. Oh well, mother nature rules.
  12. Nice! What size/model/length trolling motor is that?
  13. Might make more sense to use a down speed/depth/temp device like an X4D. That way you know how deep your rigger weights are running, and you can use your FF to mark/locate fish and bait.
  14. That's cool. I think most of these guys will give the same amount of respect that you give them.
  15. Congrats on a great birthday present and thanks for sharing! I've never seen the show but I hear a little about it. I don't have cable and I don't make time for tv. Life is good
  16. Good deal! I'm glad they had someone that could do the inspection in PA for you.
  17. Try this link to request the Vessel Safety Check http://wow.uscgaux.info/content.php?unit=V-DEPT&category=i-want-a-vsc
  18. Tyell1, I hope your inspection went well today and you got your decal.
  19. Not much progress today. I was planning to jack my trailer up and pull the bearings to inspect them and repack them with grease, but with the wind gusting 40mph and moving the boat around quite a bit, I figured the bearings can wait for a better day. I installed the extra line fuel out of the fuel/water separater for my kicker motor, complete with anti siphon valve, shutoff valve and primer bulb. It's the grey hose in the pics.
  20. Some guys go through the trouble of editing the original post by deleting the item for sale description and typing SOLD there. All they have to do is change the category from FOR SALE to SOLD. I do it from my android cell phone without using any apps.
  21. I had a boat that kept draining my battery, and it sparked every time I removed or attached the negative battery terminal. The wiring was so bad that I hired a marine electrician to rewire the boat. He found an orange wire that was always drawing current. I didn't have a Perko style battery switch. That orange wire didn't seem to have a home any more (after how many owners messed with the wiring since 1987?), so he hooked it up to the new bilge pump with a built-in float switch. The boat was kept in my driveway with the plug removed, and with that orange wire hooked up to my bilge pump I had no more dead battery or sparking issues. Maybe you have a wire like my orange wire that is always hot, even with the key and Perko switch turned off.
  22. Thanks! It's always helpful to see how other boat owners do things. We all know how limited boats can be for storage, so we have to think outside the box and try to create storage without sacrificing fishing space. Between coolers, tackle boxes, rods, nets and other fishing items, there's only so much usable space in a boat. I'm not finished with my boat yet, so I'll keep posting my progress.
  23. Spent nearly 6 hours fixing the wiring on my boat trailer today. Not surprised after having to re-wire the boat. Fixed more than 20 bad splices, still didn't have turn signals or brake lights. So I replaced both tail light assemblies and the right side amber light. The left amber light was like new, so now all the trailer lights work. I also installed the 2nd and final LED light in the right side gunnel. There are no lights on the right side (keeping it simple for now), and replaced the 2 old light fixtures that were already there but not working).
