  1. NICE! Thanks for the pics and for the story. I had plans to go out with my father and a family friend in RI a few years back, but we got there and it turned out to be way too rough, so that was a long ride home.
  2. I've lost a cap under similar circumstances as well. No where near as much of a loss as a "drunken sailor" cap though lol.
  3. DUDE, that is good work!!! Perhaps someone with time on their hands and just sitting around a computer in air conditioning all day could get the last all the spring and fall derby data and do a little comparison. Especially if that person has a gift for mathematics (Ray?) LOL i thought you were hinting to mortigan there for a sec
  4. Loaded up on some tackle... Will update on how it worked...
  5. Nice! Thanks for the detailed narrative of a report
  6. Yeah that makes me feel a little better about this boat situation
  7. haha we're both hanging in there for now! Right now its mainly just motor stuff. My father is finishing up putting a new seal-kit in the power tilt/trim unit - there are like 100 o-rings and seals that go in that thing. I think on my lunchbreak today i'm going to head out and see if I can get some new control cables. Then I can mount my motor controls and get the rest of the motor control wiring pulled back and ready to connect to the motor when it goes on.
  8. It takes a great deal of patience... People are right when they say it takes twice as long and twice as much $$ than you originally think. Granted I was originally going to do all of this in a weekend
  9. Scott - unfortunately no... The weekend of the shootout I had already booked ( a year ago) for a fishing trip up to Lake George. I'm pretty bummed- it was a ton of fun last year.
  10. Re-assebmble Motor Paint Motor Tilt/Trim Add Registration sticker Fix fuel tanks Control cables Link/Sync Wiring done! Everything works great... i'm pretty pumped to have electric downriggers and a color screen to look at.
  11. Nice progress. Thanks for sharing!
  12. I thought I updated this last year... guess i'm getting senile... Last year we made it out about 5 times, and ended up with many many small mouth bass down 40 to 100 feet taking flasher/flies as well as spoons. These fish were inhaling my one BW fly trailing a mountain dew crush spinny. Nice size to them. Also - one day we were able to get into the chickens, and went 2 for 4 with a 24" and a 32" on the same flasher/fly. This year I am going to focus more on using some cowbells with spin/glows. I am also interested in picking up a BW grease trap- given the main baitfish is smelt I think the thin attractors will do well. Anyone have any recommendations on color for this application?
  13. I'm here! Still plugging away... Everything needs to be done by the weekend of 7/21 - so here is the list: Re-assebmble Motor Paint Motor Tilt/Trim Add Registration sticker Fix fuel tanks Control cables Link/Sync Finish wiring For now, here is a pic of the dash with my driver window installed. I ended up flush mounting my GPS/FF right into the dash to make room for the down speed/temp unit. New steering wheel is a nice upgrade as well.
  14. I wish! I've had a really busy schedule with work - haven't been home a lot - I need to get my butt in gear
  15. Good to see you got into some screamers today! Thanks for the reports nick!
  16. Hey i'll throw one out there, too.
  17. My next dipsy rods will be in the 7ft range. The mechanical advantage that you have on the fish makes it worth the tax you pay in less reach in my opinion.
  18. Not a joke, go get a vhf
  19. Don't need a license
  20. hahahaha. Hey, ya never know! Either way, thanks for the compliment.
  21. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I would think that the Monroe County Sheriffs Dept. can also enforce. They have a high level of presence around Ibay, and are not afraid to write tickets.
