  1. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Time on Water: 6-10:00am =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 4 Total Boated:4 Species Breakdown: Coho, Steelie, Laker, brown Hot Lure: Dirty White boy and plain Silver/copper SS Trolling Speed: GS - 2.2 to 3.1 Down Speed: Who knows - currents seemed to be ripping all over. Boat Depth: 150-210 Lure Depth: Surface to 70' ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Headed out and got setup around 6:00am - Went with a good friend of mine who had never been out trolling. Headed north straight out of the harbor to about 70 FOW and marked bait and quite a few fish, so we set up and trolled NW from there to about 180 where we found a skum line and headed west toward the pumping station. As soon as we took the turn our Watermelon Glo SS produced a nice Steelhead that completely inhaled this spoon - even caught a gill. After that we landed a small 13" brown that I released successfully. Next up was a coho (i think?) that hit on our rigger down 40. This was taken on a full size Dirty White Boy slider. Inhaled it. When we got in front of the pumping station we pulled a u-turn heading back toward Sandy. I was pulling lines one by one to check the spoons and the planer rod setup started shaking again - this one ended up being my first Laker... 29" and took 25 mins to get in on the 15lb test line. It was like I hooked a stump! Just could not gain any line on the thing without feeling like I was putting to much stress on the equipment. At one point I thought it was foul hooked although it was not. We pulled all the lines and circled the fish till we successfully got it in the boat. This thing was spent when we got it in. A great morning on the water for sure! Here's some pics: Now we have proof and can write this off as a business expense First time using planer boards... and they were even home made! Home Made mast... Wow.. I need a haircut.
  2. does anyone know the link to the site that shows the cross sectional water temp? I thought it was in the pro links but I can't find it now...
  3. okokok
  4. I'm thinking of just clipping the black/yellow or black/green whatever it is - and just adding a N/O switch at the helm and/or at the back of the boat that will ground it out when pushed as a kill switch. Just eliminate the ignition switch all together. I don't know of any other way to move forward with this.
  5. Nice. I'll send him a PM Thanks Hank
  6. If anyone has one kind of like this: Please let me know. Thanks!
  7. That is cool... thanks for the link ray
  8. My diawa 47LCs love wire The stuff I use is 7-strand braided and is pretty supple within reason. You just have to put a twilli tip on your rod and you are good to go!
  9. Welcome!
  10. Thanks for the tip Ray - From what I can see the actual coil/stator/powerpack are all ok in appearance. My stator (under the flywheel) IS green - but I would need to pull the flywheel to inspect further. If you think he'd be willing to help, can someone PM me Hank's number? I posted over on Iboats - not really too much help over there. One guy kept responding with questions that were answered in my original post. I thought it was some sort of bot - so maybe they are all pissed at me. lol. thanks for the help!
  11. Maybe the guy that got fined was in fact anchored?
  12. Glad you were rewarded with some action for getting out this morning. I'll PM you my number if you are ever looking for an extra set of hands - Won't always be able to make it, but I know what its like trying to get a fish in by yourself out there... well it can even be a challenge keeping the boat from looping around while setting gear. Thanks for the report!
  13. Thats true in terms of volume, but not water level
  14. I wonder if the floatie is USCG approved
  15. 247.18 Feet - 247.1 Feet = .08 Feet .08 Feet X 12 inches/Foot = .96 Inches That doesn't seem very dramatic?
  16. When it doesn't start, it turns over, but there is no spark. Good suggestions... I'll have to run it at dusk to see if I see any arching
  17. 1984 Johnson 70hp Problem: Motor intermittently does not start when cold and there is no spark. When it is running or warm its completely fine. Info: There is not voltage on the black/yellow wire at the power pack All connections are completely 100% good Right now the motor is running both jumped from the solenoid with the red connector disconnected and also with it connected and controlled by the control box. I am using a standard interstate deep cycle battery There is resistance between the black/yellow wire and ground Suspected issues: Maybe its an intermittent problem with my ignition switch? I will have to wait for it to happen again to see if I can start the motor with the red connector off... but as of right now there is no continuity between the black/yellow and ground at all in any key position except OFF. Can this be a problem with the power pack? Stator? any other compnent? Has anyone heard of this happening to one of these other electronic components and having them come back from the dead? At one point my depth finder said that my battery voltage was up to like 16.8v Anyone know if my motor has a regulated charging circuit, if so, is this out of spec? I use the motor primarily for trolling, so it runs at a slow speed for hours. Anyone have any ideas? Can a high battery voltage cause the thing not to start (no spark) but not stall? Would this voltage normally just blow the power pack? Thanks in advance. Matt
  18. Nice fish! I finally got my motor going again.... Maybe i'll see ya out there Tom
  19. nice!!! Great seeing kids having a blast Thanks Tank
