  2. I was detained in newfoundland for 6 hours by canadian customs. Threatened fines, cuffs, etc. I was there legally! [ Post made via Android ]
  3. I think that was saw dust from Ray's new woodworking project - he decided to make a new boat "the coffin"
  4. Where are you located?!
  5. That's because Al Gore hadn't invented the internet yet.
  6. Going to give this a try... What keeps you from simply half-hitching a rubber band (similar to a fixed slider) to a shower curtain ring?
  7. Yeah, no fishing team when i was there either.... Great catch though!
  8. Yeah, no fishing team when i was there either.... Great catch though!
  9. what are we asking for as far as a defense system for lake ontario? Another electronic barrier? nets?
  10. Thaty'll do it. Thanks Tim!
  11. Scott, would you really want to be Oogled by some of these guys all day? Oh snap.... jk jk
  12. I have not been successful at all using my Dipsy presentations. I have run the standard Dipsy/flasher/fly as well as dipsy/spoon as a last resort. It seems like there is a variation in what people are using for leader lengths. Here is what I have been using: Dipsy to SD: 24" 30Lb braid SD to fly: 16-20" Flouro (the A-TOM-MIK fly I bought from Jay-Vee only had a 16" leader on it - so less when you tie a knot. do people blood-knot these to make them longer?) Dipsy to Spoon: 36" 30lb big game Do people run flasher/spoons off of a dipsy? Thanks, Matt
  13. Great job on the fish guys, sorry to hear about the glass shatter Jason.
  14. Well, Got them made today... just need a coat or two or five of paint... By the way, the plans that are posted LOTSA are in fact the ones with the mistake. You may be able to see the front holes that are misaligned on each one. No big deal, the washer covers the mistake Also have plans for my home made mast... will update later
  15. I have got to say that over the past month I have learned a whole lot by just going thru all of the topics in this sub-forum (questions about salmon trolling) one by one. Then expand to other sub forums. You'll find that guys like ray k and many others are more than willing to share their experience and expand on any individual topic. Including non fishing topics like the link between boot camp and bowel movements. [ Post made via Android ]
  16. I have had good personal experience at the following: Gander Mountain Jay-Vee up on norton Mitchels on Lake Ave
  17. I'm thinking about entering just to have the opportunity to meet some more of you guys - Who knows, maybe my fishing program will be more attractive to the fish by then- haha. One question: If the weather is too rough both days for a smaller boat like mine, and I have paid the entry fee, would fishing in sandy or from shore count? Weather like Sunday is probably the limit i'd take her out in - even though there was no small craft advisory. Thanks, Matt
  18. Thanks Tim. I'm going to try and make a set of these at my buddies workshop this week.
  19. Ed, Really sorry to hear about all that happening at once. Thanks for the info, and I hope it works out next time!
  20. Does anyone have an updated link to the corrected plans?
  21. Our electronics showed a pretty consistant speed graph, we got all of our strikes at speeds of 3.0+ yesterday. I have never used a trolling plate, but I hear really good things about the bags. We ended up heading in around 11 because one of the people we went out with was hurling a lot and it was getting rather rough.
  22. How did you make out when you were up there, ERABBIT?
