I am looking to upgrade a pair of dipsey combos used for LT and Kings from braid to wire. It looks like there are several choices with respect to the type of wire out there. It looks like there is single strand and multi-strand to choose from. I want multi-strand, correct? 30lb?
Also, will a whole 1000' fit on a Diawa 47lc? If so, would you recommend putting that much on?
ScottB and I spoke briefly about this yesterday when I picked up the combos, but I want to make sure that I remember correctly before placing an order.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey scott, when did I ignore you?
We had originally said middle of last week - you couldn't meet then, so you replied this week - now i am out of town so I said it would have to be this weekend or next week.
Please let me know what I'm missing man!

All - Another question in regards to my new pursuit of salmon/trout from a boat as opposed to a creek bank:
I currently have a Humminbird 300Tx (Tri-beam) sonar. Reading all of the posts on here suggests to me that a large part of this type of fishing is locating baitfish, etc by use of the sonar unit. What is the technique for doing this with a unit such as my own? Will a school of baitfish look similar to a cloud of dots on my unit? Anything else I should keep in mind with respect to using this as a tool?
Any info is appreciated.

Wow - 40'? Do you jig for the bass and panfish around 40 FOW near the sunken island?
I never considered going up to champlain. I 'll have to check it out. Thanks for the heads up on the red stripe! I fish with an 18' Sea Nymph Fish n Ski so it shouldn't be a problem but you never know based on the water level.
I plan on doing some Bass fishing, but want to maximize my time on the water with some cold water fishing as well.
Thanks for the tips!

Oh yes... the large ice cream that is impossible to eat!
I was reading that they were considering reducing the keeper length, and increasing the limit on LT due to the fact that the LL salmon population is so low. They think the LT are competing too successfully for the smelt.
Thanks everyone for your feedback! I really appreciate it

Hey all,
I need a large cooler. I'm thinking of using it for additional seating and dry gear storage along with the occasional injured fish on ice. I am thinking 150qt +/-.
