Brought my friends from K.B.O out to enjoy some of the awesome Lake Trout fishery that Lake Ontario has to offer. They provide content for various TV outlets like Rush Outdoors locally. Being more accustomed with being in the woods or the local warmwater fishery- they had a blast slamming the lakers. Now that the Kings are in maybe I can really put a hurtin' on them. * I am not a "captain" (6-pack, etc) * This video is the result of 3 friends fishing - nothing more, nothing less. * Yes I finally named my boat. SNAFU! Be sure to "like" K.B.O on their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/KirbyBrosOutdoors?fref=ts

West - in front of the tower, then went east - did some circles and ended up in front of the creek. -

I started at 40/60 and adjusted as needed based on the marks. stayed +/- 10' though -
Looks like others had a great time out there last night as well! Started around 5ish and motored out to 200, dropped two riggers cheated with spoons down 60 and 40. Also two wire divers on 1.5 setting out 190 and 240 - one with wonderbread spinny/fly the other with blue/silver NBK looking spinny w/ blue and white fly. Eventually put the cursed 10 color leadcore out. Temp was all over the place given the NE blow with surface temps near 75 close to shore. Hit 300 FOW and saw a very prominent thermal break, one that you could see in a breezy 1-1.5' chop. Followed the scum line east and picked up 2 lakers, 8lb, 14lb, 3 Steelies, 4lb, 8lb, 12.5lb, 5 kings 12lb, 8lb and three skips. Went 10/10 in a couple hours. Most of our bite was on black/glow and black/white spoons with only lakers on the wires. The only thing that didn't take fish was the cursed leadcore with a bright colored spoon down the chute - not a surprise because after two years it has never even snagged me a goby. The big steelie hit the slider 14' above the ball at 40 feet. Black/glow spoon with a glow eye. I only saw one other boat out there - turned out to be a beautiful evening with no rain.

I was spouse-free all weekend so my goal was to be on the water every second possible! My normal fishing buddy, the one who I had planned the weekend with was struck by a summer flu bug, so I made some phone calls to fill in spots at the last minute. Ended up fishing with Bob (mortigan), My sister, some old friends, my mom and dad, and even by myself for a while. With Bob: Got out first thing in the morning looking for a king bite. As everyone has experienced out of sandy, the screen from 80 - 100 was absolutely stacked with bait and actively feeding fish. We dropped two wires with spinny/fly and two riggers with spoons and free sliders. We eventually added a 10 color core pulling a clean spoon and a flatline with a bright colored stick bait. We could see fish and baitfish breaking the surface - steelies we thought, but we tried everything and could not get a fire. We fished all morning with nothing to show for it, all the way out to 250ish in front of the nose. 1pm we headed back to where our screen was good and decided to try and slay the sea chickens. That we did. Don't remember the count, I think a dozen in about an hour or so. I had to drop Bob off at the dock, so decided to head out again by myself. I went on to hit about 17 more with the high 17lbs. First time fishing alone, and man is it a lot of work keeping the boat straight and being doubled up on fish! With my Parents and sister: Pretty much same story... no silver bite at all, not for lack of trying though! went out to 450 this time with a blank screen most of the way. Had solid temp down 50 with nobody home. Went back through my normal summer salmon grounds again, with nothing. Why does this year have to be back to normal? This was my mother's first time out, so I really had to do something to keep her interest. We headed in to see the screen still looks great. All fish successful C&Red. My mother pulled in a beautiful 19lber and was a pro at getting to the rod quickly and reeling it in properly! I was really impressed. With old Friends: Took out an old friend and his brother - started at 6am. Sunday the lake was a sheet of glass, and there were only like 3 other cars at the launch, and i think only one other had a trailer. I could not stinking believe that nobody was out. Anyway - same story as above. Tried to get some silvers, ended up with a spunky steelie on an NBK spoon down 40 in about 130. Lakers were to be had up to about 15lbs. My friend Eric and his brother Brian have an outdoors video company, and provide content for TV and internet. They filmed the whole trip with some underwater shots, etc. I am excited to see how some of that turns out, and even more excited to get them back out in July and August when the kings are around consistently. Overall the weekend was great, many good memories made.

Mind if I ask what you ran behind your leadcore? I have never ever had a fish on mine - even if I put the hottest spoon on it. -

It doesn't matter if the manufacturers initially pay the tax or we do. The consumer still bears the cost. It's disenchanting to see that some people still believe that there is such thing as a free lunch.

Sandy Creek 6/19 PM

Great meeting you flyboy. That's the kind of stuff that you miss when you have a noisy motor growling all day. There was a whole lot of color right outside the creek in that area, so im sure that drew some fish in! Thanks for sharing. -
