  1. Thanks for the heads up, bout time. I got there at about 11:30 and they had five of the 47LC combos left. I picked up two. The original sticker price for the rod/reel combo was $109.99, marked down to $79.99, and they they were 50% off that price!! Even if I didn't need them, I would have bought them for spares!! Jim
  2. Hey Tim, I can see that you don't like black releases, but could you give us a little more information as to why you dislike them so much? Jim
  3. Thanks Bob & Hank!! I was sitting here reading the new posts, and completely forgot it was my birthday until I saw yours!! That's old age for you!! Jim
  4. Happy Birthday Vic!! May you have many more!! Jim
  5. Hank, I'm sorry to hear about Charlie. I talked to Frankie early last week, and he mentioned that he wasn't doing to well. My condolences to you, and to his family. In my opinion,Charlie was one THE best early charter captains on Lake Ontario. I enjoyed talking to him, and listening to his stories of bass and salmon fishing! I can still remember fishing for browns off the pier at the mouth of the Port Bay channel, and seeing Charlie heading out with a charter. The guy would never slow down coming through the channel! As the waves would splash against the pilings, we would have to jump back to avoid getting wet, and he would just smile and wave as he passed! Jim
  6. Jeremy, I'm interested in buying them. I just sent you a pm. Jim

Great video Mike. Nice looking fish! Looks like the weather was half way decent too! Jim
  8. A couple of weeks ago, around 8 pm, I heard a noise in my garage, and when I opened the door, I was greeted by a blonde raccoon with its paws on the door! He then proceeded to dive into the trash can (great shot of its ringed tail.) It then turned around and appeared to be quite tame. It knew how to use the animal entrance in the garage door! I saw it a couple of days earlier, down the road a ways, but only got a brief look as it darted into the woods, and wasn't sure it was really blonde. I haven't seen it since. Has anyone else seen one? (Sorry for the bad picture quality. They were taken through the glass door.) Jim
  9. Happy 'The day before your Birthday' birthday Bob. May you have many more. Hopefully we will do a spring get together at Port Bay again. See you there. Jim
  10. Vince, I couldn't find anything on 'Energy Presentation.info'. What did I do Wrong? Jim
  11. Way to go, DF!! Nice looking fish!! Colorful background, too!
  12. Nice going, Mike! A little bit of heaven in your our backyard!! Jim
  13. This is an easy answer. Call Hank (L&M) at Port Bay (315-558-4178). He's fair, honest , reliable, and does excellent work! Also, wish him a happy birthday today. Quite a few guys from this site use Hank for their marine repair needs (including me!). Jim
  14. Happy birthday, Hank. And may you have many more!!! Jim
  15. Hey Mike & Todd, I just did the math, and unless my math skills are way off, you averaged 22.1 lbs. per fish! That's a nice box!! Jim
  16. Nice fishing, Mike and Todd. Congratulations! Can you give us a few more details? Jim
  17. Hey Tim, By any chance, did that fish have a treble hook with a piece of herring hanging out of its mouth? I think that's the one we lost on Saturday (LOL)! Congratulations to Jeff. Nice fish! Jim
  18. Way to go Tim, I know it was only a matter of time for you find that fish! Great report. Keep them coming. Tight lines and sharp hooks, Jim
  19. So how about sharing it with us, Muskybob! The picture looks good enough to eat!! Jim
  20. Thanks for another great report Tim. Mike and I plan to head out this morning, but when I go to the screen door, I can hear the waves crashing on the shore, and feel a NE wind in my face (not a good sign!!) I'm heading over to PB to take a look. Report says 'waves subsiding to 2 feet' later in the day. We may be doing a late fish. We'll be out tomorrow also, so I talk to you then. Tight lines, Jim
  21. tcon, My uneducated guess would be a musky fry. (Head shape and vertical stripes along the body). Jim
  22. f1shon1960, It's real easy to make your own. I made a couple out of 1/4" diameter cold rolled steel (plated) from your local h'ware store. Wrap good old duct tape around one end to form a handle. Build it up to 1/2-5/8" diameter. If you have an old shovel handle hanging around, stick it in a vise, and bend the steel rod around it just past the tape. repeat the bend the same distance down the rod. Cut it off with a hack saw, and taper the end with a file. Easy- speezie, done!! Jim
  23. Nice going Mike! I was out there today, also. My buddy Mike and I left the dock at 6:30, and were back by 11:00. One skippy brown to show for it. I was fishing in front of East Bay from 70 to 180 fow. It was definitely bumpy! We put out just about everything we had with no luck. Just one of those days. I wish I knew you were out there. It would have nice to say hi!! Jim
  24. Now this is what I love to see! A fellow L.O.U. member helping out a newbie to create memories that the kids, or they, will never forget. This is what I feel this site is all about. No wonder it keeps breaking records in attendance and membership!! My hat is off to all who keep this site running. Jim
