  1. I have that same motor. I bought it new in 2008. About 3 years later it started acting like that. Two coils were bad. Mercury gave me six new ones under "good will". I guess they knew they had some bad ones out there. Never had a problem since.

  2. The only thing better than catching one is watching one of your kids catch one. Four out of my five have caught a musky or tiger. This year i hope to put one of my grandkids on one. The oldest is 12 now and i just gave him his first bait caster. I'll pick the backlashes out all day to see the look on his face when he scores.

  3. Mike, I've mentioned that exact thing to a couple of the guys. Even one week could make all the difference. Problem I see is guys will be to busy fishing for pures and the Otisco tournament will lose numbers of participants.
Great to see so many new faces, especially the young guys. The turn out easily doubled compared to prior years. Thank you to everyone who helped make it a great turnout!received_10213163859835742.thumb.jpeg.80e8b0f2b9002532d03c33a69398fec9.jpeg

Good points. One week later would be Memorial day weekend and that could be a zoo. Maybe leave well enough alone. We're getting a good turnout. I'll stumble into a dumb one over 30 someday.

  4. I caught nothing. Never saw one. Again. I've done every Otisco tournament and have one too short to enter fish to show for it. Still a good time though. Nice to see some of the younger guys there. I know once the season opens we all want to get out but maybe the tournament should be a couple weeks later when the weeds are up and more fish would be caught? Just thinking,I'll go whenever it is.

  5. I'll bring about the same then. We could always give away the extra to members. Also cny kayak anglers are having a bass tournament that day. I suggested they enter our event as well since some will no doubt catch a tiger. Maybe we can score a couple new members?

  6. Put a mark on the distributor housing where the rotor points to. Note which way the rotor turns as you remove it. Mark where it points to after pulling it. As long as you don't turn the motor over while the distributor is out you'll be fine putting it back.
