  5. I get notifications from the dec on topics i signed up for on their site. Today's news was a half million dollar upgrade to a launch at Saranac lake. They have installed a boat wash station there along with other upgrades. While i don't really think rinsing off your boat is going to prevent the spread of milfoil or gobies i do like the idea of washing the scumline off before it dries. I am not a big Cuomo fan but i am seeing some nice upgrades in some of our state parks. The new playground at Kueka Lake state park is amazing. If i were king i would lower taxes but state park and boat launch upgrades beat the heck out of more earned income credits and more welfare. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. a lot of double bladed inlines don't work right. You may need to bend the clevis to make sure they are at right angles to the main wire. That helps. Once the main wire gets bent up cut it up for parts.Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. True, but lots of esox are going to be hooked/caught by people targeting other species who don't have big nets, big pliers,or hook cutters. That's never going to change. Some info on fish handling should come with your license. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  8. I'm there from 9/18 to 9/25. Should be better then. I'll let you know. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. Yeah i read they were New York fish and only six inchers at that. Not a lot of hope for them with all the bass and pike there. I'm still rooting for them anyway. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. I read today that Vermont stocked muskies this week in lake Champlain. So i googled it and learned muskies were wiped out there by a chemical spill in the 70's. Also they have been stocking muskie there since 2008;though in small numbers for that much water. I doubt i'll live long enough to see good muskie fishing there but it's good to see some stocking effort in a big water. My kids and grandkids will hopefully see some good action there. 13. Fwiw i fished there a bunch in the 90's after some bs dec reports of tigers being caught there. Got some nice pike but no musky. But there was an island to the left of the state launch where there were schools of sheepshead. I took a can of worms there once and sight fished for them. At that time i could pick and choose which one to catch. Check it out. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  18. the go pro is a nice device but the owner's manual is 1.5 square inches and requires a microscope to read. I once taped three hours of my boat being towed to clayton.😜Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  23. Like most bays on the SLR this area is loaded with small to medium pike with an occasional big one. This time of year it's important to fish first and last light, especially on nice days. If i were there next week i would fish where i could cast from a drop off so i could fish shallow and still be able to cast to 15 to 20fow in the river. I'd have two rods set up;one with a big blade bait or spoon to cast toward shore and another with a diving crankbait or heavy rubber bait for the river side. Go get 'em. 24. I don't troll so i know nothing. If i was going to i would take Ivan's advice. It appears he knows what he's talking about. Looks like some serious experience being offered up here. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  25. Spoons always good. Rapalas catch everything. There are all species around there. My best pike bait is a nickle red eye. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
