  1. Where do you stay when you go there? Where do you launch?
  2. Wow! A beauty!
  3. Interesting trick with the orange;can't wait to try it. Back to my barbless promo: i took this shot off my gopro. There is a tiger in the net and as you can see i am picking the spoon out of the mouth of the net, where most barbless baits end up as soon as slack is given.
  4. Up at 4am today to head to mayville. Weather channel says 100% chance of thunderstorms. Back to the home repair list.
  5. I wasn't there saturday, sorry if i gave the impression i was. Like brent,i'm in the food biz and saturday off is a tall order for me. I usually get out mid week. I have a white champion. I catch a couple at waneta every year but it's never easy. I think every fish in the lake has been caught twice and are leery of my offerings.
  6. success indeed! two follows is a good day for me at waneta. nice job.
  7. My number one rod is a 9' st, croix. Overkill most of the time but great for figure eights. My backup is a 7' pete maina rod from bass pro. It's a fine rod. I had a 7'6" two piece maina rod that snapped at a really bad time. Before my mortgage was paid off i caught plenty of fish on stiff 6'6" bass rods that cost 20 bucks at walmart. I used 17 lb trilene xt then and never felt overmatched. Just took longer to get them to the net.
  8. From severine north to the next point is good too.
  9. Oh yeah;thanks justin for the recent posts. I wouldn't have been there today without the recent info.
  10. i was alone today so the go pro was on the outboard for fish pics. After i got some i put it on the trolling motor. I played with one of the small fish in front of it but failed to turn it on. I need more practice with the wi fi remote. I did manage to link it to my phone so i could see underwater on it.
  11. caught some this morning. 2 dinks and 2 decent ones. All on a red eye. All on the southwest shoreline in 10fow. Water was 67/69. Nice amount of weeds now.
  12. The visibility in those lakes is never very good. I doubt the rain has much impact there.
  13. Good to hear! Might get there wed or thurs depending on work
  14. Glad you are ok. I towed my lund for a few years with an s-10 blazer with a 6 cyl. to save gas. Dealer said it could handle it. Not so. I put two transmissions in that toilet. I say if you're gonna tow a boat get a full size truck with a v-8. Gas costs less than transmission work.
  15. happy father's day to all. This is my old man back in the day. It appears my habit of not putting the plug in is inherited. Take your dad fishing while you can.
  16. "Rodfather",good one!
  17. 8 in 3 hrs;not too shabby. The cottonwood was bad thursday as well. I have two reels loaded with it. Tigerhunter;thanks for the info.
  18. I washed my boat after work today and with all this talk i decided to take a fair shot at washing out my bilge. I got in there as best i could with cleaners and brushes and elbow grease. I'm sure i whacked a few microorganisms but it still looks sketchy in there.
  19. Pullin copper it sounds like. Old school but it works. Probly using a victrolla.
  20. Tigerhunter,how was cannadarago?
  21. yeah, the card reader is handy. I wonder if it accepts ebt?
  22. Fished there today from 5:30 til noon. Water was 66/67. Caught 2 small pike and a bass. Had some other follows and hits;all small and no musky. Saw a decent pike caught by a troller. I didn't see any weed disposal stations or power washers but they have this now: the last part says i'm old enough to use the launch free as long as i run over to Letchworth and get a pass.
