  3. Nice, you Big O guys make me wish I had a bigger boat
  4. Nice report! Sounds like you had them dialed in.
  5. FLXTroutman and I headed out of te North end at first light and set up just past the drop off. Was a day of first's for sure. First fish of the morning was a whopper as Mike hauled in a monster Alewife, his first landed while trolling Next first came when I was setting the copper down the chute, I was just about to ask Mike if he ever got bit settting gear when whamo a rod bender hits me about half way into settting the gear after a good fight we put a noce 8lb 4oz laker in the box. LW SD and Hammer Fly combo did the trick. One other small laker was also taken on this rig. The next first came on a setup we have now deemed the Charnelia Special, silver Dodger with a sutton 44 spoon trailer both with long enough leads to take 2 men to set the gear, lol. Mike landed a monster bow on this rig! Last but not certainly not least Mike's last of the day was a hook-up on a 10' skipper sailboat as a guy ignoring all of our shouting proceeded to cut the inside line on out planer and 7 color LC set-up. Fortunately as he ran the gear and Mike went for the hookset the guy was able to pull the Keel and salvage the gear sorry Mike I couldn't get him in the net. I was telling Mike about my outing the previous week on Canadice when my boat was in the shop and he figured I should post the results. My buddy, our wives and I took the Yaks out and I pulled 7 color with a MDC SD and Hammer Fly combo hooking up on 4 nice lakers and a 6lb 8oz bronzeback 45-50' down over 90-95'. All fish were released except one laker which took the hooks deep.
  6. Nice report sounds like some good fun.
  7. Nice Post! Sounds like fun on the chop anyway
  8. You can always find fish deep but there are also plenty to be had in around docks and on the breakline 10-12'. The bite is best dawn to 9 or so and again in the afternoon when targeting these areas. Top water and plastics are a good choice. Tight lines
  9. Awesome! Looks like a great time and what a hog Laker!
  10. Awesome Sounds like a great day on the water!
  11. Nice! Sounds like it was an awesome morning.
  12. FLXTroutman and myself took my boat off the north end for its maiden trout trolling trip and we weren't dissapointed. We setup just off the north dropoff and held a line over 100-130ish fish were marking 50-70' Copper rig down the shoot with greendot spin D and Fly combo was the hot rig, also put a fish on the board with with the dipsy on wire setup with a green revelator and fly combo. While new to fatherhood Mike didn't miss a beat! An unknown alarm onboard cut the trip a bit short but we still had some good times.
  13. Nice Report!
  14. Nice, sounds like good times and thats all we can hope for!
  15. You could smoke a turd and it would be good, some fish are meant for the sport of it for sure. The state record Drum was caught in Mud Creek
  16. I use a Kitchen aid meat grinder and it works great for Picks and Pike, I recommend twice ground to 100% get rid of them but I don't think it is necessary
  17. Try this one Brian Fillet the Pike as you would a perch or bass leaving in the ybone and all to get the most of your fillet, run the fillets through a grinder twice. In a bowl mix pike with one or two eggs, add fresh minced garlic, few tablespoons of pesto, pepper, salt, few dashes of parmesan cheese, 1/4-1/2 cup diced up cheese curds, a minced onion(medium), diced roasted red peppers, and make 1/2 poundish size burgers. cooked in a hot cast iron skillet with olive oil. It will be delish for sure.
  18. nice catch!
