  2. I have a ControllKing unit on my 9.9 Yammy right now. It was originally ordered for a 9.9 merc I had. The only difference in the "kits" are the linkage from the servo to the throttle and the mount for the servo. I actually built new linkage and mount when I switched from my Merc to my yamaha. We live so close if you wanna stop up and look at mine feel free. PM me if you dont still have my cell # Jeremy

  8. I also have a ControllKing and has worked flawless. One of the best items I have ever upgraded on my boat...Love it. ha Microfine adjustments when attached to my 9.9 yamaha. -Jeremy
  9. The one I actually have is a ControllKing. Was a little cheaper when I bought mine. Go to their web sight you can look at some systems installed on motors give you an idea of what your getting in to. TD
  10. I am not exactly sure why these are only made for 4 strokes, but think one would work for any motor. The only differences between the motor specific models is the brackets for mounting the servo and the throttle linkage. With ingenuity you can adapt these type of systems on any small kicker motor. I actually bought one for a Mercury 9.9 4-stroke then was not happy with the motor and sold it. I then purchased a Yamaha 9.9 4-stroke and adapted the mercury one to the Yamaha. It was not that difficult. Just a thought.... TD
  11. Stay away from Saltwater motors in my opinion....The thing to consider is the amount of hours on the motors. Saltwater boaters have more time to use their boats than us northern folk and they also tend to run more miles to destinations than we do. If you look on Craigslist near the coastal cities it looks like a graveyard for what I would consider very new outboards. They are tough on them. TD
  12. Pic and model of unit would be helpful. TD

  16. I believe I have the Controllking on my 9.9 yamaha 4 Stroke and it works awesome. I don't think you can go wrong with either brand. They are way better than forward controls, when it comes to precision speed adjustments.... TD

  23. Well had a great weekend with Family and friends. We started off friday running a normal rigger, copper, cores, and dipsy spread and catching fish. We boated the big fish friday over 8lb laker out over the center of the lake on a dipsy green dot mirage fly. Sweet gas money!! I really enjoyed the added excitement to fishing Friday thanks guys for organizing this event! Well after Friday it went down hill from there....The fish came harder and harder by the day. I never really found a honey hole. Then on Monday my boat did not want to plane out......Come to find out one of the trim tab hoses blew out and they stopped working, any one know if any of the local Marinas have this hose in stock?? All in all I had a enjoyable weekend and look forward to this derby next year already. Congratulations to all who made the board. Next event for me will be the SENECA SHOOTOUT should be a fun event. (minus the weeds and fleas yuck..) Jeremy
