I still cant decide between the Lowrance carbon 9 and the Humminbird Solix 10 mega SI. One question is if I get the Airmar ducer for either unit is there a port to hook it up without loosing the side or down scan

If you fall out of your tree stand this will gently lower you to the ground. Its a rope system that deploys when you leave your perch, then like rock climbing you can lower yourself down. I bought it but never used it as I gave up tree stands for ground blinds. They were pricy so that is why I think they never took off big but looks to be the safest thing you can have especially if your a high hunter. Tree stands do fail and falls happen. I think I'm going lowrance carbon 9, mostly due to size compared to the Helix, they are pretty big for the same screen. My next question is get a factory transducer or an Airmar, don't need side scan but I guess it nice to have. I miss spoke, I will be upgrading both and all you mention is a must. A lot of units I see come with the transducer, so I do want to look at a unit with a tducer as an option then maybe go Airmar w it.
