  1. I took a 17 year old from Texas two weeks ago, out of Olcott same great Laker action 65-100 ft of water, most on cow bells off the rigger with small Viking spoons. Kid eyes were popping out cause wehad him land all the fish, after about 10 he started complaining I have to play ball tomorrow, your killing me. Now my phone is blowing up when we going again!
  2. I had similar years ago and problem I had was the heavy plastic cover would still allow hooks to come through when on the gunwale. Mount so no one leans into them and they are the best!
  3. I rig the same as you, with Chamberlin release below probe, just keep the rod tip back when lowering this keeps the line away from the probe. I think maybe one twist in over 20 years or when ever the Moore 1st came out. From probe to weight w release 12" to 14", so I'm pretty close, just remember to keep the rod back when lowering into the water, then you good to let it down to your depth
  4. Sunday for me as well with new kid from Texas, never trolled
  5. Sorry we couldn't get the Moore working, good luck with the boat
  6. I use a #3 oval split ring on the spoons, then the same coast lock
  7. The torpedo cable looks like a great replacement option. I have lost signal when deep, may give it a try. I like the smaller diameter
  8. what is tearing it up? I have a Moore cable that has to be 10 years old if not older. I have a nylon pully on the rigger, I just re-terminate the end yearly, holds up nice
  9. I use the 18lb on Ontario and have not had a break off yet....please note I said yet
  10. Really interested in "where to salmon go" Thanks Scott
  11. look for cracks in the lower section, no cracks good to go
  12. I hope they changed the design because they were not "cheap" Sure they were on sale but $70 for a med/light rod is not cheap, as in " you get what you pay for".
  13. that's a lot of boat for a 260hp
  14. I would guess being a cuddy it carries a merc cruiser V8, 260hp alpha one IO
  15. I hope that doesn't happen with 5lb brown or walleye
  16. X2, I fish the Niag Bar to Olcott, some great fishing indeed, but like fishing is, can be some slow days as well. Good luck
  17. Went with Cabelas depth master med/ light 7'6" on sale.
  18. S&S electric in south buffalo may be able to rebuild
  19. Thats a shocker about Moore, I have had a few of the subtrolls for the past 20 years or so. I have a 19' boat w 3 riggers, my Sub troll is on the rear corner and never a tangle to date with another rigger. I have had a few bare spots in the coated cable and it still works fine, I think if you can make sure you have a continuous connection for the signal to pass you should work OK, try to limit the amount of bare cable the best you can.
  20. another not trout / salmon, how about whitetail antler restrictions, lot of pros-cons
  21. pics all open on iphone but not on PC
  22. Idea, Gentleman's agreement, If you have a LOU sticker, or reading this keep your boards at _______ ft? fill in the blank 60' each, works pretty good for me, 20' between lines
  23. for sure on the safety part, lot of fish in the lake
