  1. I, like a lot of us have a small 19' boat. The problem is we own many rods and storage is tough. I can deal with the storage part but knowing what rod is in what locker is the problem. What I came up with is a simple painters tape and a marker. When I'm getting rods stored for a fishing outing I take a piece of painters tape and write down the rods I put in that locker. On my boat it's on the inside of the access panel, next trip if rods are changing its only a piece of tape. Here is an example, and sometimes I have 5-6 rods shoved in one locker. Scott

  3. Most of the councils were aluminum and when not screwed down flex all over the place. If yours are you will have to remove the windshield to square up the council boxes again. Not that big of a deal to do, just takes some time. With an aluminum boat I would consider aluminum for the floor. Scott

if its "new" as in brand new, get what the dealer option is, best fit and function, if old (new to you) just don't buy the cheapest one or you MAY have trouble with things lining up
  13. get at least a group 27, group 31 if weight and space allows. I use (2) group 27 Interstate on a 19' up in the bow the weight helps with the ride and runs all day salmon "steering"

  23. my 1997 Johnson with factory install bracket to brace motor at transom, (same idea as above pictures) on a 19' aluminum, original owner and transom is a straight as ever, always trailed. Like said above though, if the motor is allowed to bounce up and down, trouble with come, so as long as its "locked" to keep from bouncing you can keep your lower unit scratch free
