  1. Going to be hard to find a tandem trailer for a 19 islander. Not many out there with a GVW less than 3500 lbs which is really all that is needed at most. Seems to me that it would make more sense to become over-zealous on trailer maintenance, like switching out tires far far sooner than one normally would for your own piece of mind. Can do a lot of trailer maintenance for the cost of the switch out in terms of trailers. Just a thought. I speak from experience. I had a tire blow out on a tandem trailer as well. Scary at the time but now just a distance memory.
  2. Depending on the year- Robalo has been a name. Like many manufacturers it has gone through ownership changes over the years. Being a 23 footer I don't think deadrise should be an issue. The boat would be 8 or 8 1/2 feet wide. On a smaller boat, a 17-18 footer deadrise would be much more of a factor. I don't know the specs of a Grady off the top of my head but they usually have quite the V and there are plenty of those around.

for sale : usa Starcraft islander

As it reads and I interpret it the boat was sold in 2019 to wrestlecoach-he then resold it because he decided to move up to a 25. It has been four years now so it all seems legit. The first poster should have closed this off.
  4. It was advertised on Craigslist at $5250.00
  5. suzukimarine.com Several come up in the Albany area, only two or three for Kingston.
  6. Water pump failed on a 20 Evinrude I have a decade ago, it got so hot in a short period of time that almost everything that was gasket material or plastic melted.
  7. There are more center consoles on the lake now than there were twenty years ago or thirty years ago. I own a small one now. I am not posting this to knock them because they have a place, it just can be cold, damp and wet in the early spring and the fall which is likely a turn off to some potential buyers. Some buyers have family considerations. It can also be very nice in July and August when the air temperature is hitting 90.
  8. In the 19-20 range as far as cuddy cabins there are some Sylvan Offshores out there few and far between. Crestliner also made a small Eagle for several years, a walkaround cuddy. Open bows, Sea Nymph 195 and its Grumman twin, then products from Starcraft, Sylvan, Smokercraft, Crestliner, Lund, Alumacraft etc. As the boats get newer, asking price goes up.
  9. I admired the beautiful woodwork on your boat when it came up for sale on Craigslist.
  10. Power pack?
  11. As the song says, The church bells range 29 times for each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald. On Tuesday in Detroit those bells were alive and were rung 30 times, 29 for the deceased crew and one for Gordon Lightfoot. For almost the past 50 years Gordon Lightfoot had a relationship with those families appearing at as many events with them as possible.
  12. Chances are that if the boat has an outboard, it failed at the bolt entries because they weren't properly sealed. Moisture and/or water is going in somewhere. If you are going with plywood again, paint it or stain it as a preventative measure. In theory, you should be getting 20 years or more out of a redone transom replaced the correct way. If the floor of this boat is plywood and hasn't been redone, it will have to be replaced at some point anyway.
  13. Some of them used to be on line-Mercury/Mercruiser site.

Having had a transom done on this size boat in the past two years I can confirm that you would be in the 6-8 range as mentioned above. Suggest if you were interested to have it surveyed to see if there are any other big issues lurking.
  15. This thread will open to all opinions. In terms of national brands which means I am not talking about regional brands from the west coast and pacific north west, I start with Crestliner and Lund and then work my way from there.
  16. You have something which is tearing at the coating, the pulley at the end of the rigger, something in the reel on the downrigger. Cable on coating is usually a long life item.
  17. On every environmental issue that these clowns think they are cutting edge, they have no clue. And as we find out the real world limitations of electric vehicles on how they perform, how you charge them and how much they cost, the average person just can't write a check to cover it.
  18. Sounds like a good approach
  19. A plywood floor painted on both sides and then covered with vinyl or carpeting is going to last probably twenty years or more. Yes some keep their boats for decades but many get rid of them in less than a decade.
  20. Those 19 Sea Nymphs are great boats! Looking forward to seeing the progress.

In light of the lake effect event, how did things play out?
  22. No excuse not to exercise your rights. Especially with early voting opportunities.
  23. That is the correct path, I have seen the Critchfield product, was also into bass boats for a while.

  25. I have never turned in trailer plates, I have a whole collection. My father didn't either and also had a collection. No need to turn in the plates to DMV.
