  1. A potential purchaser can do their own research on this topic or any of the other issues I presented in the ad.(like any potential motor issue or the purchase of four brand new tires which I took care of this week as a thrown in to sell this package).   Not trying to hide anything, just posting a boat that I would like to sell this spring.  I am very appreciative of LOU providing this forum to do that.   Thank you.

If we get enough of a thaw before it sells, I will likely go through the registration process on the trailer.

  2. The form to do the homemade registration is on the website as of last week. If it is under 1000 lbs, you can do it.

Over 1000 lbs is a problem and you can't do it or have extreme difficulty doing it. I know someone who has a very nice aluminum tandem car trailer that is in the over 1000 lb club and is having that issue or issues.

If someone wants the form number and instructions, send me a pm.

As for the motor issue, in the late 1970's on of the most popular Mercruiser engines was the 302 producing 188 hp.  It was replaced by a 305 Chevy which produced 198 hp.

  3. If you are coming as far as Westfield NY, there are also some campers for sale by a used car dealer in Cassadaga NY, they are on Craigslist Chautauqua County.  Seems that the RV industry never fully recovered from the 2008 recession and the public in general has not either and there are all kinds of what appear to be deals to be had out there, particularly on Craigslist.

  4. It is a 2008 bought in 2012.  Never had oil in it, never fired. So it is brand new with tag on it. I have the extended platinum transferable warranty to 2/2017.  Has self contained tank so no need to mess with tapping in fuel line.  Never used because a month later I bought a 9.9 four stroke plus I have a couple other small motors.  $700.00

  5. Agreed, I have purchased used reels from Bill and I presume his boat was treated the same as the reels, top notch.

And if you walked through any boat shows this winter, sticker shock in the form of the intensive labor costs associated with boat building, the cost of petroleum based fiberglass have sent prices skyward again.

  6. You need to know what your transom height is.  If it is 20 inch or long shaft for your main motor and there is room to mount the kicker on that same transom, you may be able to get away with a 15 inch kicker motor.  I have a 19 Sea Nymph now and a 17 Starcraft before that, both with the 20 inch transom and mounted a standard shaft kicker on both.  Send me a PM if you want to get into specifics.

  7. If there is a boat show in your area , go to it, it will give you ideas.  In your price range with a little looking and some luck you probably can find yourself a decent 16 foot package and it will likely be aluminum.  Some of the brands would be Crestliner, Lund, Sylvan, Smokecraft, Starcraft, Lowe, Tracker.  A few of the older ones would be Sea Nymph, Grumman, Discovery.
