National Lake Trout Derby Sampson Roll Call!!!
Lil Jake replied to lakebound88's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
We will be there Friday morning early. Site 308 right next to Nick. Slip 50. I called yesterday to check which slip they put in, there seemed to be some confusion (reserved April 4) so I also asked to make sure I was in a slip with power and found out I was not. They were very helpful and fixed the problem but it may be worth a call to make sure your getting what you asked for, just a little FYI. I'm in for the $20 big fish Friday. Mark -
Sean that's great,,,glad your back at it.

Cayuga Lake Advisory from Tompkins Sheriff
Lil Jake replied to Mower's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
In an effort to find something positve that came out of all this rain, the Cup just grow by one boat, Justin is back this year. The delayed start do to the weather has given him the time needed to get his poop in a group(boat set up) and he will now be fishing for Seneca. Still time to add more guys. Glad to have Justin back, I think he was the only Seneca member to fish all weeks last year. -
I was at the north end of Cayuga today at my camp and the water is up somewhere around 2 feet from last Sunday. The majority of the lake is brown and I couldn't begin to list the stuff that was out there bobbing around. I stopped at the Union Springs public launch and it was under water, from the shore to the end of it, just gone under the water. SO, I think the best thing to do is cancell week one. I want to get the season going as much as the next guy but if we all go out someone is going to lose a lower unit or worse. I'll leave it up to the team members if you guys want to let this week just go; or if you want to re-schedule, either way no weights will be taken for this weeknd. If you do go out this weekend be careful and return safe. Mark

Reminder this weekend is the kick-off. Still have room for more guys if anyone wants to get in on this. Heaviest 5 from Saturday and Sunday combined. Good luck to all and I can't believe I'm saying this but,,Lets go Seneca

Here's what I have so far with a couple of ?'s. Cayuga (5) LJ-Wayne-David-John-Rshubuck Senaca (2+2?'s) Nick-Zebedee-Sean(?) -Jason(?) If I missed anyone let me know. I think Sean will fish for Senace and I really want to find a way to get Jason involved, here's my idea for that. Jason I don't know how far out your work schedule goes but if if you can pick two weekdays that you can get on the water and they are the same or at least scheduled in advance it should work out to be fair. What I'm getting at is over a ten week time frame your weekday's and our weekend weather should equal out or at least close enough that the playing field is the even. Jason if we can get you, Sean and Zebedee you guys will have a strong team even with Nick on it . I'm trying to find away to make this work for anybody that wants in. What do you guys think? Mower as far as putting this out elsewhere I'd say go for it, in the end it will bring more guys to the LOU site which is a good thing.

Need more guys still if we are going to do this.

I wish we could count it and I hope get a couple brother. We will be pulling for you while trying to pick up the slack. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

Sean, you can fish with whoever you have aboard on that day. Trying to make it work for as many as I can and still have a some what even playing field. U don't have have 5 fish to send in results, I take the heaviest 5 from the team and they can all be lakers. I think I can speak for all Cayuga team members when I say you have a spot with us if you want one. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

Per boat John, you could fish with a different crew each week if you wanted to. Somebody wake Nick up he's dreaming [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

This year is going to be a little different. Teams will not be limited to just there home lake, on any given weekend, members of either team may fish either Cayuga or Senaca. Scoring will be the same. Send in weight of your heaviest five fish. I will take the heaviest five from all team members and that will be the weekly total for the team. I will also track who contributes to the weekly totals so we know who, at the end of year, has contributed the most , second most, third and so on to the winning teams total. This information will be used to set the pay out for the winning team. Losing team gets nothing. Entry fee will be $80. Based on two 5 man teams an example payout is below.(once teams are set a pay out schedule will be adjusted to match number of entries. ALL money will be payed out. 1st. $230 2nd. $155 3rd. $130 4th. $105 5th. $80 This leaves $100 to be used for a $10 weekly lunker fund. ALL money will be paid back. Please choose your team on this thread so we can get a count. PM me for payment info. Schedule of events will show tourney's if they are the same time frame (two birds with one stone) if interested. Both days of the weekend can be fished to help those with tight schedules or to fish around bad weather. 1.April 30-May 1 2.May 21-22 (B & B Spring) 3.May 28-30 ( 3 day National LT Derby) 4.June 11-12 5.June 25-26 6.July 9-10 (Red Cross) 7.July 23-24 (24th LOU-ALL) 8.August 13-14 (13th Light House Derby) 9.August 27-28 10. Weekend of B & B Fall, don't have a date yet, will post later. Lets get some teams set up guys and good luck to all.

Lil Jake - Cayuga - Seneca Cup this year?
Lil Jake replied to stoutner's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
Thanks Scott, did I have the date right for your Light House Derby? I had that date written down but I can't remember where I came up with it. By the end of the weekend I'll start a new "sign-up" thread with all the dates, rules and a sign up sheet you guys can send me when you mail your entry fee, that way I'll have all the ifo to set up a group e-mail for posting results. Give me a day or two and post what team you want to fish for, hopefully we get a good and even turn out, start recruiting. -
Lil Jake - Cayuga - Seneca Cup this year?
Lil Jake replied to stoutner's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
Here are the ten dates I'd like to use. I think I've missed the Pro-ams and most of the other Lake O dates. This year we will have both days of the weekend to "box" your heaviest five fish for team score. 1. April 30- May 1 (open) 6. July 24 ( 1 day only LOU All) 2. May 21-22 (B&B Spring) 7. Aug 13-14 (Lighthouse Derby) 3. May 28-30 (National) 8. Aug 27-28 (open) 4. June 25-26 (open) 9. Sept ? (B&B Fall) anybody have a date for this 5. July 9-10 (Red Cross) 10. Sept ? (week after B&B Fall) Tenth date will be at the home lake of the losing team and will be the end of season get together and prize pay out. This will be the only time you will have to fish a specific lake, giving home lake advantage to trailing team to make on more push for the cup. Let me what you guys think. Mark -
Lil Jake - Cayuga - Seneca Cup this year?
Lil Jake replied to stoutner's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
I think it needs to be set days on the weekends only so the playing field, weather wise, is equal. If we allow team members to fish either lake without penalty I think it will help with scheduling and up the enteries of the existing tourney's;example, if members of team seneca want to fish the B&B Spring Derby they will get there points for the seneca team, now that's not to say they have to fish cayuga that day. It just makes since to do this seeing how the majority of us will be fishing these tourney's anyhow, the scales are there and it's more chance for us to get together. More of a team vs. team thing instead of lake vs. lake. Thoughts? I'm going to start putting together a schedule and get it out for all to review. -
Lil Jake - Cayuga - Seneca Cup this year?
Lil Jake replied to stoutner's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
I'd be glad to do it again this year. I haven't done anything with it mostly because at the end of the season last year the Seneca team got down to only two guys fishing. If there's enough interest I'll set it up again, but it will have to be soon. -
Thanks guys for the info. I'm goig to make a drive up that way thi afternoon and do a littl recon, I'll report tonight.

Anyone know if they have opened the launch, or when they plan to? [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

Andy, I spoke to the guys at the Lansing Park Dept. about 2 months ago and they were thinking 1st maybe 2nd week in April. That could have changed but that's the last I heard. If you hear anything let me know, I'd pay money to not have to trailer thru Ithaca.

If the mail box thing happens I'd like to get in on it. It's discourging sometimes to watch the "views" counter go through the roof but only have input from a dozen or so of us. Frisco had the idea and is "semi" retired so I'd think has the time, I nominate him to captain this boat, you can thank me later Ken. Have fun in Fla

Thanks guys, I never noticed this thread until just now.

I don't know Frisco,,after seeing those fish I guess I do believe in your lead program, but in my defense I always assumed you ment lead core line not 12 gauge slugs , a couple of those look like you shot them. Nice cooler, congrats.
