  1. If every sportsman/sportswoman in New York had voted for Astorino four years ago, we wouldn't be having this conversation. I worked with guys who hadn't voted in twenty years. They were hunters and gun owners and did all kinds of complaining when Cuomo beat Astorino but they never bothered to register and vote. Guys can get up at four or five in the morning and fish all day or sit in a tree stand but can't take ten minutes to vote. I'll be blunt, IT MAKES ME SICK.
  2. Hi Wayne,

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to talk to you at the Genessee River launch that Sunday during the LOC Derby.  The guy I was with was in a bad mood and wanted to get out on the water right away.  How did you guys do?  We never got a hit on a rod.

  3. PM sent.
  4. Believe me guys I hate to see the snow too but the longer the water stays cold in the streams, the longer the fingerlings stay in the pens. If the streams warm up to fast, the fingerlings have to be released sooner.
  5. I don't understand how keeping a fish cold on ice causes spoilage. Tell us what we should do instead of using a cooler full ice if we want to bring some fish home to eat. Should we use a floating fish basket or stringer like the old days?
  6. That was the first thing I thought when I saw the pic. Holy crap, Rob's got a little smirk on his face.
  7. He left his truck and trailer on the ramp and took off on the jet ski and started driving it around so no one could use the ramp. The other three guys were trying to start their motor for a while and that ramp was tied up.
  8. Nice pics Shawn. I was there with my son when you guys were coming in. I couldn't believe that guy on the jet ski. To cold for me.
  9. Hats off to Dan, Rick and Lucas. Great job setting this up and the information covered. I learned some new things and can't wait to try them out. I ran into old friends and made some new ones. I wish it had gone longer. The day flew by. Thanks guys
  10. I didn't know I was a culprit. I used to arrest culprits in my previous career. If the witch had won, we might not be hunting at all.
  11. John, If you go to the LOTSA website you will see your name on the list for the Salmon School. They are not sending out emails this year. Everyone will be checked off at the sign in table before the class starts.
  12. Posted October 25 · Report post · Folks, I have worked at the sign in table for this school the last three years and we have always had to turn people away because they tried to get in at the last minute. Sign up early because it will fill up. Whether you are a newbie or someone with twenty years experience, you will still learn something from this school. By signing up, you automatically become a member of LOTSA, you receive a goodie bag of lures and tackle, a very nice lunch and free admission to the expo for only $85.00. It's a great way to break up the winter, run into old friends and meet new ones. So go ahead, treat yourself and sign up That was my post from October under the tournament section. As of December 12, there are only ten seats left for the school. Three great fishermen are lined up to teach this class. DON'T MISS IT!!!!!!!!

  14. You don't want to bring bananas on a boat. Leave the bananas at home.
  15. The girl at Lake Breeze Marina gas pump was telling us this afternoon that it has dropped a little bit in the past few days. The docks at the state ramp on the west side were still underwater where you first step on the docks. If it stays dry this week, things should start looking a little better. There was a lot of debris floating around out there ,boards, logs, branches. Be careful.
  16. Billy was like Superman. Diving under water. lifting forty foot docks by himself. He's a one man wrecking crew. I learned a very memorable lesson. Never hang on to a nylon rope when you are using a pickup truck to drag a dock out of the water. I still have all ten fingers thank the Lord. All in all, it was a fun day.
  17. Were you at the Black North on the East side or the state ramp on the West side? My wife and I took a ride Sunday afternoon and the state ramp was locked with a gate going across the driveway so no one could drive down there.
  18. Pt. Breeze State Launch and Golden Heights were closed Sunday afternoon. Do think King Cuomo will give us a partial refund of our $85.00? .
  19. Hi Paul, I wish I could but I'm tied up Friday and Sunday. I would have loved to observe for you guys. I'm retired now and available anytime. Let me know if you need an observer for any other tournament. Good luck to you guys this weekend. Jim PS Check the observers lunch box before you guys start fishing. You know what I mean.
  20. Call Ray Sands Glass on Chili Ave. They have been in business for at least thirty years. If they can't do it, they will know someone who can.
  21. Scott, I have a ten foot jonboat you can borrow to get to your boat. You know like those little dinghy's people use to get to there yachts
  22. I wish I lived closer, I would jump on that. I just retired two weeks ago and am looking to become a mate between the Oak and the Jenny.
