  1. Thanks again for everything Rod. I'll be looking for Matt Friday night. The photo came out great.
  2. Rod, It was great meeting you and all the other guys. I had a great time from the time I got there till the time I left. I had to go to work that afternoon and I couldn't stick around. I learned a lot listening to you, Jeff, and Rob and also from the guys I fished with on 5 More Minutes. They were a lot of fun. It was a great learning experience and I met many new friends. Take care and God Bless. Jim
  3. Happy Birthday Tim. I just got in tonight from being down at Pittsburgh. Thanks for all the times that I have asked you a ton of questions and you give me good advice at the LOTSA meetings. You have helped a lot of guys become better fishermen and you are not afraid to share what you know. You're a good guy. Jim
  4. I saw it happen a few years ago at the New York State Sheriff's Camp on Kueka Lake. Some kids were playing around tossing a dead sunfish at each other and one of the kids got hit in the leg by the dorsal fin. It started out as just a small puncture wound but the kid ended up at the hospital with a serious infection, swelling and fever. It wasn't good.
  5. Jeff and Tim, You guys were great. Very professional and a very well organized lesson plan. I am especially grateful for the tips on running the meat programs. I can't wait to get out there again. I definately recommend these classes for anyone starting out or someone that has a few years under their belt. I learned a lot of new information on the fishing and boat set up tips. Thanks again. Jim
  6. Rod, I sent you a PM. Let me know if you did not receive it. Jim
  7. I tried taping Part 2 also and the same thing happened to me. What gives?
  8. I agree with Paul. I love fishing at the Oak.
  9. Skipper 19, Thanks for telling us about this. My wife found it for me on Channel 221 for anybody in the Rochester area looking for it. Jim
  10. Thaks for the info. I didn't know Captains Cove did reel repair. That's a lot closer.
  11. I have a Daiwa Sealine 47H real that a friend gave me before he moved south last year. The handle turns fine but the free spool lever does not go forward all the way and the spool does not spin. Any ideas of who does real repairs in the Rochester area? Thanks, Jim
  12. Happy Birthday Jeremy. Thanks for helping me out picking those flies at the flea market. I'm still trying to figure out if and how to use the center pin. One more thing to get involved with. Jim
  13. I went Saturday afternoon and caught Pete's seminar. It was a very good seminar with a lot of good info.
  14. I want to second that, it was awesome. I also want to thank the LOTSA guys who put on the Beginner's Class on Sunday. They did a super job and I left Saturday and Sunday's seminars with a ton of new information. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Saturday night and met new friends from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Canada and Oswego and I saw old friends that I met at last years seminar. Folks, if you have never been to the seminars or the flea market, you are missing out. Even if you have to come from several states away, or travel a long distance, it is well worth it. Start saving now or planning or do whatever you have to do for next year BUT DO IT. You wont be disappointed. Jim
  15. Tim, I'm like a kid the night before Christmas. See you all this weekend. Jim
  16. I just sent you a PM
  17. Where can I get some of those. They look HOT.
  18. Wayne, I saw how much they were and I made one myself. I used 2x2's and a piece of plywood for the frame. Went to a craft store and bought a piece of vinyl that matched the color of the interior of the boat and some foam padding. I wrapped it around the plywood and stapled it with the staple gun. Saved a lot of money and had fun doing it. Great winter project. Jim
  19. I would like to go to this. If anyone from the Rochester area wants to split the gas/cost, let me know. I'm coming from Brockport,New York.
  20. You should check on the ice fishing section on this site and someone there should have information for you. There is also another web site called Iceshanty.com and you sign in there then look up New York State. They have just about every lake in New York and the guys are great about sharing information.
  21. He must have had a good teacher. Congrats Dad, you did a good job. There is nothing like having your kids addicted to fishing. They grow to fast. Enjoy the special times together.
  22. Let me know the date and I'll bring the bananas. My wife makes great banana bread and banana muffins too. I think I'm starting to pick up Ray's bad habits.
  23. Hi Earl and Doris, Welcome to the site. You helped me out last summer at the Oak when I was having a problem at the launch. Happy New Year and I'll see you folks this spring at the Big O. Take care And God Bless, Jim
  24. I saw a gourmet chef at a demonstration do it just like Muskybob said. He used pliers and pulled each one out individually. It only took a couple of minutes but there were no bones and he didn't waste any meat.
  25. Thanks for all the info guys. I learn new things all the time on this site. Thanks for your help.
