  1. Benni, There is an inline dipsy diver that would get you down a little farther not really sure if they make a chart for them to show how much line you have to let out for your desired depth but someone on the site may be able to help you with that. If your going after salmon though you might want to come up with a bait caster that will hold some bigger line and more of it . Tom

  4. Jake, Although it might take a lot of coordinating and I don't know where your fishing buddy is coming from or how flexible he or she is but you might want to try a post in the trade a trip forum - viewforum.php?f=25 and I'm not quite sure what the rules are on buying an LOC derby ticket but might be a good idea to pick up one of those a lot of guys won't take you out unless you have a derby ticket. Good luck if I had a bigger boat and fished the big lake more I would extend an invite. Tom

  15. Wanted to share an email with everyone in case they wanted to help out. From: Conine, Thomas [mailto] Sent: Thursday, July 21, 2011 2:20 PM To: Senator Thomas W. Libous Subject: New proposed fishing law. Mr.. Libous, I am an avid fisherman and was just wondering what was going on with the new proposed law change on 2 rods to 3 rods per fisherman and women. I have been following updates on a fishing website that I belong to and understand that the next step is for the actual proposal to make it to the governors desk? There are a lot of fisher men and women very anxiously waiting for some good news. Thank you in advance. Tom Conine My Response: Thanks for the email, Tom. My 3-rod rule bill isn’t on the Governor’s desk yet, but it’s scheduled to be delivered soon. I hope he’ll sign it. Keep your fingers crossed. If you’d like to let Governor Cuomo know how important this bill is to you and other anglers, please call his office at (518) 474-8390 or send him a message through his website by clicking here. http://www.governor.ny.gov/contact/Gove ... ctForm.php Best wishes, Tom

  18. Andy, Lots of memories made on this trip, these are the times that I hope Dustin will share with his children when he gets older. I have never been a tournament fisherman, not against them I just don't like putting any restrictions on my fishing, (when I get to) so when the first thing Andy said to me was "Hey no pressure lets just have some fun and maybe put a few fish in the boat" I thought this was going to be a fun trip, and it was all of that. Dustin and I both had a blast lots of fish caught besides the ones that we put in the cooler, If I don't see another copper rig in the near future it will be fine with me . Our biggest fish came on the 400' copper and Andy politely handed the rod to me and said go ahead Tom you take this one Anyway 13lb lake trout on the 400' copper anybody got a snickers . Andy caught 4 fish on one of the riggers and reset it 4 times before we even saw the fish I was reeling in. Needless to say my stomach where I held the rod and my right arm from reeling are both sore today Again Andy thanks so much from both Dustin and I for making some great memories. And a special thank you to Scott "Splitshot" for all the hard work putting the tournament together we had a great time! I have some more pictures on my camera that I will post later on tonight. Tom PS- Eskimo Joe I saw that look in your eye next year you will be back with a vengeance watch out everyone!
