Had a good sit this morning. Passed on a 2 1/2 year old 8 point at 10 yards. Ended up seeing 7 deer, including two yearling bucks, the 8 that I passed, and a nice 10 point that was chasing a doe...couldn't get him close enough. Tough stand location to get into for a morning sit, so I went in just at daylight...got to see a nice sunrise from my yard before I left. Sent from my SM-S901U using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Checked a couple cameras today that have been set up for a little over a month now. Got a lot of good pictures, but mostly night time activity. This is the 3rd year that ive been watching the very symmetrical 10 point, and my second year targeting him. With the most recent set of pictures, I've finally figured out his bedding location. Now to just wait until the time and weather are right! Sent from my SM-S901U using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I've had quite a few pictures of bucks sparring on camera over the past 2-3 weeks as well, but they should start breaking up real soon now. I'm excited about this season, I recently upgraded to a new crossbow (Wicked Ridge Invader 400), and bought my first ever muzzleloader (CVA Optima V2 Nitride). Can't wait to try them out this season. Good luck to anybody that is heading out this weekend!

Does anyone know where i can find some nightcrawlers near Deans cove? I'm renting a place near Dean's Cove for the next week, and I've got 4 young kids that are eager to do some fishing. We've got a boat and plan to do some fishing from the boat, but wanted to get a few dozen nighcrawlers for fishing from the dock as well. Sent from my SM-S901U using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I'm selling the rest of my trolling rods and reels (all line-counter reels) since I've gotten more into the vertical jigging, and I've already sold the rest of my trolling stuff. All rods are brand new Ugly Stiks (light action) and the Convector CV 30D reels are brand new as well. Located in Addison, NY. If you go to the link provided above - www.fingerlakesanglingzone.com - you can go to reports and look back through years of reports - the majority of which are on Cayuga. John (the guide) is extremely knowledgeable on all finger lakes fishing. Check out some of his reports from July timeframe of previous years to get an idea of areas/depths that he was fishing at in the past.

Rob, I saw on a Facebook Trail Camera page that someone bought some "air tags" and put one inside of each of their cameras. I don't know much about them, but the guy stated that if one of the cameras was stolen, he would be able to trace the location with his phone as long as the thief had something with bluetooth near the stolen camera. He claims he tried it out with his son and it worked, so maybe it would be something to look into, just a thought. It sucks that you and so many others have to deal with tresspassers and camera thieves so often during gun season.

I’m looking to purchase a muzzleloader for next years season, and after reviewing some of the content on Legacy’s thread over the last few years, I’m kind of leaning towards the CVA Accura LR-X. I’d like to be able to shoot out to 250 – 300 yards, so I was leaning towards the .45 cal. instead of the .50 cal. for two reasons. From what I read online the .45 has a faster twist rate (1:22” instead of 1:28”), and should also have less drop and better trajectory than the .50 cal. Just looking for some advice on whether this is a good route to go? Chromeslayer also recommended the possibility of having a CVA Scout V2 45-70 converted to a muzzleloader, but I don’t think I want to invest quite that much. Also looking for a recommendation on a decent MOA scope that would be best for that muzzleloader in order to shoot 100-250 yards without breaking the bank too bad.
