I agree Gill-T, if someone saw that "flash" through the woods i could see how someone could confuse it with a mountain lion. I talked to a guy at work that said that bobcat's coat won't stay that color for long as it will soon be transitioning into it's winter coat which will consist of a much more gray color. And Les, i think i'll take your word for it, not something i'd want to corner

The main line that you hook your free sliding cheater on will have a bow in it from the drag of the water. Your free sliding cheater will slide down the line until it reaches the farthest part of that bow (usually about half way down your main line, depending on speed and currents).

What lake were you fishing on? Jigging for lakers has proven to be extremely effective on the finger lakes, especially Keuka. I've always trolled for them, but there are members on here that will be able to tell you what works best for jigging. I know a decent fish finder is very helpful as you can sometimes see your jig on the screen and tell where it is in relation to the fish you're marking.

Sorry to hear that you had all of that equipment stolen, it's very sad that there are even people out there that would think about doing something like that. Like Baitrigger said, post some pics when you get a chance and the general location of where it was stolen at, maybe you'll get lucky and someone on here will see it posted somewhere online.

Yeah, some of the pictures we have of them on our trail cameras were right in the middle of the afternoon. And the most activity (like you said) was in a clover field a few days after it was cut. My uncle owns a farm bordering our hunting property, and has ~ 200 sheep that will often lamb outside in the pasture. That may be a good place to start...

I agree that a good way to establish your credit history is to get a credit card and buy small things with it. As BSMaster said, don't put more on there than you can afford to pay off in full every month. I even make a couple payments a month on my credit card so by the end of the month when i have to pay off the balance, it isn't a huge shock how much i owe. As others have said, a boat is a toy and if you can save up and pay for it in cash, that is the way to go (might even be able to get a discount for paying in cash). If you are working 40 - 50 hours a week and make decent money, try to put $100 aside every week if you can afford it, and by January you'll have 2000 - 2500 saved up. Then you can find a boat and buy it during the winter months when people are lowering their prices to get rid of boats that they do not want to store all winter. Good luck!!

Great Lakes, Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, the area i hunt is not local, so setting a trap line and checking it every day is out of the question. Had the land been in Addison, and i had more time on my hands, i might have taken you up on your offer. The hunting information you and Steve.e have give will definitely be useful though. However, with limited time, most of our coyote "hunting" will probably end up being while we are hunting deer this year. Thanks again, and great pictures by the way!

Anybody else been getting more coyote pictures on their trail cameras than they care to see? I checked two of my cameras yesterday after having them set up for a little under 2 weeks. Had pictures / videos of 6 coyotes in that time. That includes a 30 second video of 4 coyotes hunting together in a pack at night, so i know there are at least 4 different ones (4 more than i'd like). What is the best way that you've found to hunt them? I've tried a few times but without much luck. If using an electronic caller, what kind of call is most productive at the beginning of the season? Also, what time of day / night do you think is the best time to hunt them?

Haha i wondered if anybody would think that it was photo shopped because of the number of cubs. I have never heard of or seen a bear with more than 3 cubs before. However, i can assure you this picture is not photo shopped, i saw the picture on my wife's camera before it was even uploaded to the computer. Although i do feel bad because i gave her a hard time before i saw the picture. I kept insisting that "maybe it was a couple of turkeys fanned out in the field and just too far away to tell"

I know this is not a fishing picture, but i know most of you fisherman are also avid hunters / outdoorsmen. My wife Carey (Owner of Carey Crooker Photography) was on a photo shoot about 2 weeks ago when this black bear appeared in the field behind her with 5 little cubs! She was able to snap a few pictures before the bears realized they were not alone and turned back to the woods. This picture was taken in Addison, NY.

Well, you could turn your computer screen upside down, but other than that i'm not much help!

It's been an odd summer trolling for lake trout on Keuka, that's for sure. Congrats on the bow though, that's something not many people can say they've caught in recent years on Keuka!

I have also heard about using scented dryer sheets. My dad is big into golfing and almost always wears a baseball cap when he's playing. Underneath his baseball cap during the summer is a fresh scented dryer sheet. Seems to work pretty well -
Wow great job Mike!

Les, If you spray paint it in a camoflauge pattern, neither the flies or the fish will see it.....just something to think about
