  1. I second what Pap said! Great job Kevin!
  2. I ran out of popcorn half way through the show and had to run to the store to get another bag! I'll be better prepared next time Hope everything works out for both of you.
  3. I have fished Keuka lake for about 15 years now, and have noticed a few things about the lake: 1. As everyone has stated already, if you catch a bow or brown on the lake now it's a real treasure because it doesn't happen very often like it used to. 2. Although the laker population is still way too high, over the last 2-3 years the average size of the lakers i have caught has increased IMO. This spring was probably my best year ever on Keuka (for size), landing two lakers in the double digits (11lbs & 10lbs) and a few others in the 5-7lb range in just three trips out.
  4. Nice job Justin! Sounds like it was a great night.
  5. Les, I guess there is no way for me to avoid arthritis then
  6. Awesome, thank you very much!
  7. Thank you Chad for getting the site back up and running again! Anybody know how to stay logged in on this site? I had it set up that way before, but must be when the server was having problems maybe it changed my preferences. Right now i have to log in every time i re-open the page which as many times as i visit throughout the day could cause an early onset of arthritis! Thanks, Sean
  8. I have only tried trolling for lakers at night once (actually a few hours before sunrise). However, that was before i had any glow spoons so i can't really say whether it would be worth it or not...sorry.
  9. My opinion on the solunar tables is that it has the potential to make a big difference, however i think that weather conditions outweigh the solunar tables. If the weather lines up correctly with the solunar tables, the bite could be outstanding. However if the weather does not cooperate, i think the solunar tables have minimal effects. Just my opinion, i'm sure others on the site will have more to add though.
  10. Thank you Tim (Poverty Stricken II) for posting this morning, finally have a good supply of .22 ammo again
  11. I just stopped down to Dick's (Horseheads) on my lunch break, and surprisingly they still had a lot left. I bought a bucket (1400 rounds) for $69.99. When i picked them up at 11:00, they still had a few buckets left, and plenty of bricks. Not sure what the price was on the bricks though.
  12. I wish i could have made it down there this morning, i've been wanting to get a couple boxes of .22 shells. It doesn't matter what sporting goods store you go to, if you aren't there an hour or two after they deliver a new shipment you probably won't get any. Do you know how often Dick's gets a new shipment of ammunition in or is it pretty random timing?
  13. Maybe you guys got the wrong ones....i think the Banana Bread spoons were right next to the Wonder Bread spoons...
  14. Thanks for the replies everyone, i found one this morning that i have purchased.
  15. Looking for an electric trolling motor to mount to the front of my 14ft aluminum boat. My brother and i will be setting it up for duck and goose hunting this year, and it would be nice to have an electric motor to set up decoys and to retrieve the birds. Not looking to spend too much on one (otherwise i'd be looking at new ones) but would like to see if anybody is interested in selling. Thanks! Sean
  16. I'm not fishing the tournament this year, but at least i get to enjoy the entertainment of the "North vs. South Trash Talk"
  17. There isn't a better person to respond to this question than Sk8man! He will answer any questions you have about Seth Green rigs
  18. I know i am way out of season right now, but i am just curious if anybody has ever gone duck or goose hunting on either Lamoka or Waneta lake? I was out there fishing yesterday and saw a few spots that looked like great cover for duck hunting. I recently bought a 14ft aluminum boat (already camoflauged) with a 5hp motor that i would like to set up for duck hunting lakes. If anybody has been out there hunting in the past, is there a good number of birds flying during early season before the lakes freeze over? Thanks! Sean
  19. What type of fish are you looking to target?
  20. I've been fishing the South end for 3 weeks now, so it's been open up to the bluff since then. I heard yesterday that one of the branches was now clear, but the other still had ice (not sure which one).
  21. I would have said yes if i didn't already make plans to take some of my wife's family out on my boat Friday morning. However we will be on Keuka. Good luck on Seneca Nick!
  22. Went out on Keuka again yesterday on my step brother's boat and trolled for 3 1/2 hours. Ended the day with somewhere between 20-25 lakers (all good sized)...never caught one under 3lbs. Biggest was once again in the double digits! 10lbs 3oz. The first two lakers that i catch over 10 lbs and they happen to be back to back weekends. I think Keuka might be starting to turn around a little bit and get some good sized lakers again.
  23. Thanks guys, it definitely was a great start to the season. Can't wait to get back out there again!
  24. Finally got the boat out for the first time this year. Took a friend of mine out Saturday morning and launched around 6:45 at the Motel in Hammondsport. Trolled most of the morning up and down the East side of the lake near the South end. Off the water by 11:00 with 11 for 15 (all lakers). Most were caught in 90-120 fow down 65 & 85 on down riggers. The night before i set up a 7 color leadcore and was very glad that i did. I ran that off the back of the boat and ran 5 colors out with a perch rapala. Right after we made our first loop we hooked into a real nice fish that immediately started taking drag. 250 ft of line out and 10 minutes later we netted my biggest laker to date. Tried to release it, but after the fight it put up i was unable to get it going again. Weighed it when i got home (3 hours after it was caught) and it was 11lbs 2oz and 32" long. Most of the rest of the lakers were the average Keuka size (2-3lbs) with a few larger ones mixed in. Sean
