Thanks Zach. I know Waneta does not get that deep, so when trolling for musky do you use the rapalas kind of like a top line when trolling for trout, or do you still use downriggers and have the rapalas right off the balls? How fast/slow should you troll for them?

My friend and I have never been musky fishing before, but would love to give it a try this year on Waneta Lake. Can anybody tell me when the best time to fish for musky is, what kind of lure to use, how to fish for them (casting or trolling?) etc. Any information would be a great help!! Thanks in Advance Sean

I have some good places to fish in the river, i'm just wondering when the smallmouth really start to get active? Is it early spring or not until the weather really starts to warm up?

I am wondering when the bass really start to get active in the early spring. I would like to get out fishing as soon as possible, i will be fishing on the Genesee River for Largemouth or Smallmouth whatever will bite!. Any info would be great! Thanks, Sean

I've caught several bowfin in Sandy Pond, that might be what it is.

Nitro, the 3 musky we had come right up to the boat were probably between 36''-40'' which i know isn't huge for a musky but it sure got me excited, i've never caught one before.

My brother and i got out on Lamoka a few days ago and although we were fishing for bass, we had a few nice sized musky follow our lures right up to the boat. First one scared me half to death because i wasn't expecting a fish that big to be following my rapala Anyways it got us really excited about a second trip there, this time targeting musky. The problem is neither of us have ever fished for musky before. Any tips on how to catch musky would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

Has anybody been out bass fishing on sandy pond yet this spring? Planning to make a trip out there in a couple weeks, was wondering how the action was so far.

I'm looking to do some trolling on Seneca this weekend for Lakers, and i noticed that a couple of you talking about flasher/flys....can somebody explain to me what this setup is and how it works? Any suggestions for trolling on Seneca would be great also! Thanks a lot!

A friend and I are fairly new at trolling, but we'd like to try trolling for Lakers on Seneca this Saturday. Just wondering if anybody had some general advice for us, such as what depths to fish at this time of year etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! We have two Seth Green's and 2 downriggers but not a huge variety of lures. We are going to be launching in Watkins. Thanks.
