if you dont trust your counter on your rigger and your not marking your balls on FF try slowing up a bit til ya mark them... that will get ya close think the best thing i did this year was lose my probe for my fish hawk fish the marks and set speed by the dipsy rods and blow back on rigger cables -

use rigger counter for depth.... disregard the temp as most of the fish are coming way below temp..... -
19 strand runs close in price... just the way its made i guess

when running it out be sure to check it closely.... i found a bad spot at 250' the other day

i ran the 7 strand last year.. complained to the company about the knot strenghth and much fraying.... they suggested trying the 19 strand...so i bought 3 spools of the 19 strand this spring.....still junk..... back to 7 strand malin for me

30 lb mono works fine ( be sure to check it often and change if needed) when fishing solo i run 4 or 5' leads but when others are on board i may stretch em out to 8-10' -

headed NW out of the salmon river to last wknds waypoints set up in 225 FOW 1 wire out 300' w/white spin dr and morning wood fly other wire out 240' w/hammer paddle and custom blue weenie fly at 260 fow the 300 wire takes off..... nice lil 8 lb king keep going to 380 fow with no more action turned SW pulled the 240 wire and dropped a rigger to 130 with a silver plaid paddle and green crinkle back into 250 fow the rigger fires.... lake trout about 6 lbs.....then another laker shortly after pulled the rigger and reset the 240 wire got back into 190 FOW and the 240 wire takes off....15 min battle and hes gone.... after that from 190 -170 fow i couldnt keep the 240 wire in the water ended with 6 kings and 4 lakers put 2 in the box that wouldnt have made it anyways all in all a good solo run

henderson harbor salmon spectacular kicked off friday morning we ran north west from salmon river set up in 140 fow no action til we hit 275 fow MC rocket with big weenie meat head fires on the 110 rigger that rig goes on to take 3 nice teenage kings the eis house e-chip teamed with a big weenie pole dancer 322' out on the wire takes 2 nice teenagers and 1 just over 20 at the end of the day bree is sitting in 4th place with a 20.8 lb king saturday morning kicks off the lil salmon river challenge we ran back to where the kings were hitting fri ran a white spin DR teamed with the new morning wood fly 300' out on wire ( took 4 kings) ran the same MC rocket set-up ( took 1 king) teamed a hammer e-chip with a custom blue weenie 322' out on wire ( took 2 kings) we were set up about 5:45.... boxed out at 8:15 we weighed in 6 fish for a total of 92 lbs....... 6th place out of 109 teams THANK YOU to Karen and Gary from big weenie brand for such good flies and meat rigs AND also to MC rockets for their great imitation baits todd

reports get scarce during tourney season kings are setting up nicely on the east end still good brown action as well -
nice toothy critter 20lb in any species is a great catch thanks for the pic
