Fished solo both days for my first 2 fishing days of the year on Lake O. I fished both days from 8 to about 1p.m.... Had 5 browns on Monday, kept 3 with the big one goin 10 1/2 lbs..I was Happy!. Good colored water in a lot of places and saw my temp gauge make it to just a tick under 46 degrees at the time I left. Yesterday(tues) the water was clear and temps were cooler except for at the mouth of the littl salmon. Caught 3 ...no big ones...but still had fun. I will try to post a pic with this new format

Well after 34 years on the railroad....I retired Yesterday!!!No more walking on them damn rr ballast stones and rr ties....no more 250 mile round trip commute!!I am gonna miss my co-workers and some parts of my job (track foreman)....but i would much rather FISH than work! I have met some of you LOU guy's , and i am looking forward to doing a lot more fishing , and meeting and crossing paths with many more of ya's this season. good luck to all....choo choo.

Nice and neat fishtails..gives you peace of mind in no mans land. How about a small mini pair of binoculars, paper/waterproof map or charts of area, emergency waterproof ponchos/raingear , small thin tarp and small coil of rope for emergency shelter ,that could be used for an emergency drift sock too. Thanks for the info and advice guys. Ray K , definately salt spray getting on the cable and steering arm. It's a shallow draft little 17 footer, and a very wet ride with a little wind or chop.......I will get some of that merc 2-4-c lube om..... and use your cable removal trick when it locks up again jimski.Thanks again guys. I have a 96 evinrude 60 hp on a key west cc that i keep and use by my sons house in north carolina. The steering always locksup on it when it sits for a week or more. I've cleaned and sprayed the stainless steel rod that goes in and out..but it always locks up anyway.We've tried some grease but it doesn' t work any better.We use it in salt water, but there is no noticeable corrosion....what is the best grease or lube to use on the steering to keep it from locking up? Hey Gambler....nice looking bucks. Here is a nice one that was in my back yard , front yard , side yard for a day and a half, waiting for one of my pet does to be ready...first week of november. He let me get to within 20 yds at one point.
