Oil alarm is a intermittent beep mine is continuous. I put my hands in the stream didn't feel hot at all.Never had a problem running on the muffs but you could be right.I also unplugged the tan wire on the temp censer and the alarm went off.Guess I will put new stats kit in it and hope for the best.Hopefully the temp censer isn't bad I really don't want to pull the head off to replace it right now just want to fish. Thanks for the reply's

Anyone have any recommendations of a good marina=parts store?I have been trying to do business with my local Marina for 15 years now they always rub me the wrong way. They seem to belittle me because I don't have a brand new Etec or a 2014 Yamaha and don't want to pay them $100 plus hr for service.Just looking for a place that carries a good inventory of(ancient) late 80s omc parts that treat there customers with a little respect.Conesus or Honeyoe would be good.Even driving an hour would be better than giving my local marina another penny of my hard earned money.Done with my rant Thanks

I have a 1990 Johnson 90Hp.My last trip out last year my temp warning signal went off.Today I checked my impeller it seemed fine but replaced anyway.I put it on the muffs it started right up and seemed fine had a decent pee stream after it warmed up.After about 5 minutes or so my temp alarm went off again.I then waited 10 min.or so for it to cool and the alarm went off so I figure my alarm is working properly. So now I suspect the thermostats. They seamed a little caked up but not bad.I put them in a pan of water on the stove to see if I could see them open like a car thermostat. There didn't seem to be any movement.Should I be able to see them open and close as I heat them up and cool down? The inside of the of the water ports around the thermostat housing seemed pretty caked up with white build up from being in salt water a few times(by me and the previous owner}Is there any thing to safely flush it out with? I plan on putting in new stats in just want any feedback on anything else to check or to do while I am in there before I put it back together.Access isn't real easy. Thanks .

Legacy @ Sandy Creek 4.26
Sean Youngblood replied to Legacy's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Nice report sounds like great action. So I take it you are letting out about 11' or so of line out to where your Slide Diver is and 100' from diver to spoon? What setting do you like to use? I have tons of Slide Divers and have only used them a few times. They have been in my box so long. I am sure the surgical tubing that comes with them turned into dust years ago. -
Glad to her that they are cracking down.I have witnessed many violations and have only seen one person caught.I used the tip DEC once and it was handled so poorly I have never used it since. They used my name over the airways then drove across the street and talked to me after they confronted the violator.Good to hear my sportsman $ are working for us.

The post said a couple of weeks ago. They changed the system over at the end of December into early January. That is nearly 3 months ago.Maybe time flew by for hawkeye from catching so many fish.Changing over didn't effect me and I read about it myself before it happened.I have never had a problem obtaining a licence ether. However I have waited in line for a couple of hours to get it while there "slow limping system" that would take 10 to 15 minutes to process 1 person.Ok I will take some of the blame.Like I said in my post last minute.
-
Only in NY is a slow limping license system replaced with a worse broken system.(from everything I have read so far}I hope they have the Kinks worked out by the time my is up for my usual last minute renewal. But I have my doubts.

Made it out to Sturgeon again 3/23 with my friend Matt again.Headed out on foot. Travel was great no snow on ice.Started out in 54' picked up a couple of nice Perch.Screen went blank Moved out deeper 58' didn't mark much.Hiked back into 54' tried several spots picked up a few more.Moved back to were we started in 54' Now it's like 3 and we only have about 6 or 8 Perch between the 2 of us.About 330-4 my Vexilar starts to light up.It was like someone flipped a switch on.We wound up catching over 100 Perch with 83 keepers from 9-13" and 1 12' Walleye.Ice was about 24" everywhere I drilled.Machines where out as far as I could see.Harbor ice is getting a little beat up from all of the Machines.Should hold up the rest of the week.

Little slushy on the way out. I would say 1.5 hrs out. Mostly standing water with little slush on the way in 2-2.5 hrs. I would guess with many breather breaks.

Made probably my last trip to Sturgeon on Tuesday the 11th.I hiked out to 54' of water and caught 3 Smelt in the first half hour.Packed up hiked out to 60' got into the Perch. The late morning and early afternoon was a slow steady pick.Late afternoon the bite picked up.I just jigged 1 rod with a #3 Rap with a small Emerald on the treble hook.Lost 1 big fish that was suspended about 10' off bottom, probable a Lake Trout after a 5min, fight.Limited out on Perch.Made for along hike in with the extra 35+lbs. of fish.6 to 8" of water on the ice in most spots on the way in.Ice was about 18" in the areas I drilled.
