  3. My parents took me up there around 1963 for tours of the dam and locks. Don't remember much, I was only 10. Kevin
  4. Rolmops- I am not an expert, but you state a few misconceptions. Cormorants have been federally protected since 1972 under the Migratory Bird Act. Decisions on culling are made by the US Fish & Wildlife Service. Animal rights groups got a federal injunction on culling/shooting, oiling and whatever 4-5 yrs ago. This may be what you are referring to. Only in 2019 did the USFWS allow some limited shooting permits on aquaculture fish farms down south. Our DEC has their hands tied. As far as nest oiling, cormorants roost/nest in trees. Not practical. I agree it is a major problem not only with fish stocks, but these winged rats have destroyed several islands in Irondequoit Bay with others severely damaged. Gallo and Stoney saw this years ago.
  5. Hunt em up Stella!!
  6. There a numerous posts on spring/summer brown fishing. Do a search up above and be prepared to do some reading.
  7. Trolling off Webster Park summer of 2017 we spotted a floating decomposing king. As we got next to it we saw something flashing 2 ft underneath it. Made a swing back and netted the stinky thing and found a new 2 Face Pro Troll attached to a stud fly in it's mouth. And it has been the hot combo since then.
  8. #10 marine gauge should be good. Easy to work with and handle the load

  18. Looking at that outflow chart you can see that starting in April flow was cut 8 times ending with 5600 m3/s on 4/22/19. That is the lowest outflow of any of the years listed above. Hmm.

  21. Pursuit 255 Offshore with 250 Yamaha. Raymarine ACU-100 tied into existing SeaStar hydraulic system. 3 yrs since the install, 580 hours, using it 80% of the time trolling and has been worry free.
  22. If you're looking for a smaller brown spoon that produces try some DW Super Slims in all of Brian's color suggestions. A small Moonshine Raptor has been good also.
  23. NymphO is right on with using a combo of reports. Fishing out of I-Bay I use WindAlert for direction and speed. Also web cams in Webster NY and a Coast Guard weather station on Summerville pier at Rochester harbor. Station #RPRN6. Also the NOAA marine forecast for laughs. Even with all that it's still a crap shoot
