    Check out the Pursuit line of 24-27 footers. Not sure where you're located but there is a good selection in the Ohio and Michigan area. I'm in western NY and bought mine in Port Clinton Ohio in 2009. 255 Offshore w/ 250 Yamaha. Similar to a Seaswirl but better quality boat IMO. Got 1700 hrs on the Yammie with zero issues so far. The ride is rock solid and it has all the extras you'd want for fishing.

    We have been using 2 3in pieces of foam pipe insulation on either edge of spin doc or flasher and then wrap leader around the foam and stick the hook in the foam. No kinks in leader and hook is secured.

    Definitely a cheaper run to the outlet jlogger. We actually got to like the 40 min run in the AM. We'd hop in the boat and get all set up on the way out. Break everything down on the way in. Sat. & Sun. Afternoons were a real treat. No idiots to deal with.

    The last 4 kings we've caught didn't total that.

    Both trips were in the 20-30 mi range out of Oregon Outlet. Amberjacks were on structure like wrecks and a old US Navy communication tower which looked like an oil rig. Billfish trip was a little east of that. On Monday 8/21,eclipse day, it was dead calm. On Wed. It blew hard SW at 20-25.

    Great location. A lot closer to the fishing marinas than we were. We stayed up in Corolla. Enjoy your vacation.

    Thanks Matt, it's was a hoot for sure. Only a few Mahi would have made it perfect.

    That fish is a white marlin I believe. We didn't get any pics of the sails. The other pic is the blue.

    Had a 6 hr amberjack trip on Monday. Caught 12 and kept limit of 6 along with some sea bass and a bonus cod. All caught over wrecks. Yesterday had a full day on "Fishing Frenzy" of Wicked Tuna fame. Great day. Caught 2 white marlin,1 blue marlin and 2 sails. With a bonus 45lb wahoo to end the day. Missed 3-4 others. All released but the wahoo for dinner. First class operation all the way. Capt. Greg and 2 mates could not have worked any harder keeping fresh baits in the water and staying on fish.     Just splice in around 150 ft of this and then flouro leader of your choice (20 lb) and good to go. If fleas load up on your wire and gets jammed at the twilli tip, just grab the wire in front of the reel and pull wire thru the twilli and fleas fall right off. I gotta try the wash down hose idea.

    My opinion is don't bother with the braid - go with the wire. You can saw them right off MUCH easier

    This has proven to be very reliable for several years now.

    Fleas have been bad out of I-Bay. Changed over to 200ft of Blood Run Sea-Flea and fished last Monday. Couldn't figure why rigger rods kept letting go from the Scotty releases with nobody home. That Sea-Flea is very slippery we figured out and changed over to a black release. Problem solved
